SANTANA Live in Singapore

Wow! The concert was fantastic! It was like a dream come true for both of us. We left for JB at about 9.30 AM and arrived at about 2pm. I thought I'd still have time to wash my very tangled hair (from all that sleeping in the car). After we checked in to Puteri Pacific Hotel, we walked across the road to City Square (I think) and looked for a hair salon. I finally saw one that had a bunting saying that they're having a promotion for hair wash & blow at RM38. I thought it was cheap! The salon was called Hair Wave. So in I went and had my hair washed & blown while Bo went to find money changer to get some Singapore Dollars. After my hair was done, I was billed RM53!! Just because I asked them to put some hair serum to smooth my hair down. I was a bit shocked but I was not letting that spoil my excitement for the concert!

We went back to the hotel and got freshen up while waiting for the taxi to come at around 5.15pm. As we left for Singapore, we got so excited like school children going on a zoo trip! We arrived at Rochor Road at about 6pm and got on another taxi to Singapore Indoor Arena Stadium. After we claimed our tickets at the counter, we bought some snacks and sat down while eating just outside of the East Entrance (which was the entrance for the tickets we bought). While we were sitting outside, we saw different characters of people. They were a family of 6, all look so alike that it's freaky! There was also a woman with a very big butt and she wore a shiny tight top over a very tight pant/legging (not sure what it was). She also had a bag over her waist and when she turned around, nobody could miss that big butt of hers. Guess the waist bag actually accentuate her BIG BUTT! We couldn't help but also noticed a lady with a walking cane (guess she sprained her ankle or something), a man in a wheelchair and another lady with a severely bandaged wrist! Wow! And they still could come to the concert! What a spirit.. Oh and have I forgotten to mention that there were also many SPGs with their white trophies!

We got our seat after we visited the toilet (just in case), we didn't want to miss any moment of the concert. The concert was supposed to start at 8pm but it started at 8.20pm instead, at least that's better than Mariah Carey 1 1/2 hour delay or PCD 1 hour delay or Gwen Stefani's 40 mins delay. The only concert that started on time was Lionel Richie.. As Santana went on stage, there were a very very loud noise and I knew Bo was so excited. I can't remember what was the first
song but I remember how aged Santana looked and how good the music was. He's a genius and a living legend! Seated just behind us were 2 girls and a guy who were very noisy since before the concert started. They were being snobbish as of they knew that we're from Malaysia. But when the music starts, they kept quite but I was shocked when the song Maria Maria came out, they shouted like a bunch of monkeys. And they got quiet again when other songs came out. They were quiet for about 5-6 songs after that unitl Smooth came out. Oh my god! They were so irritating and I think they knew only a few of the songs. My ears hurt from their shouts! We had to move way back behind them so we could hear the music properly.

I honestly can't come out with words to describe the feeling and excitement we felt at the concert apart from it's a trip & money well worthy! They said picture speaks a thousand words...



The concert ended after 11 pm and we walked to get a taxi but they were all booked or taken by other people. So we managed to catch a bus but missed the stop we were supposed to go down at. We went down and got on a taxi and got to Rochor Road for our trip back to JB. Arrived at the hotel wayyy past midnight. And it was a night to remember for the rest of our lives, only another Santana concert can outdo the one we just went to.
