Since Bo has golf game with the boys tonight, Lucy & me decided to go down to KL on our own to meet up her friend, Laura who made a stop-over in KL en-route to Melbourne from London.
After we had our dinner at Trader's Hotel (which was superb, by the way), we made our way to Asian Heritage Row to dance the dessert's calories away. Maybe it's Tuesday's night, but the area was quiet and didn't look interesting. So, we went around Jalan Sultan Ismail again to find a place we could have some fun.
We saw Beach Club was packed so we thought it was interesting. Mind you, the last time I was there was maybe more than 2 years ago and I was there with Bo and my then colleagues.
I never liked Beach Club, ever since the first time I went there. It looked like a sleazy, tacky club to me and it's definitely NOT the place to get drunk, you may be in a lot of trouble if you did.
First, the club is just full of slutty looking 'girl tourists'. With blonde-hair that just looked off, outfits that looked like 1 or 2 sizes too small, worn-out bras that showing and coming out, breasts that looked like they were ready to pop out anytime and the dancing on some sort of platform suggesting that they were going to do a Thai-Girl Show/Striptease, almost.
Second, the men especially the tourists who thought that it's that easy to pick up girls at a club just by locking eye contacts. Can't they tell the differences between a look of disgust and a look of a flirt? How ignorant or rather naive can they get?
If it wasn't for Laura, I wouldn't want to set foot at that place. Despite all that, I had fun people-watching. It was fascinating to watch a vice in action, the look on a guy's face when he gets to touch a girl without even buying her a glass of drink, an angry girlfriend caused by her boyfriend dancing with another girl... The girls and basically the whole crowd.
One thing I sympathize with was the sharks that they have over the bar. If I remember well, there used to be more sharks but last night, there were only two... I guess they died... Goes to show that even sharks wouldn't want to be seen at the beach club!
Oh! and the cocktail (at least the margarita that I had) was not nice at all!
