It's a jungle out there!

While waiting for Lucy to do her UK visa application submission at Wisma MCA Jalan Ampang, I went down to Secret Recipe to have some drinks. Seated there next to my table was someone very familiar. So I said hi and tried to remember who she was.

She's my mom's good friend, Rosalind. She had cuts on her left cheek. So I asked what happened. And so she told me everything about her being robbed a couple of nights ago. She lost her handbag containing purse with some cash, her mobile phone, her passport, her ID, her credit cards etc.. Basically, all that she depended on being in a foreign place.

She was sending her son to register for the entry into a university and while crossing the road, a motorbike with two riders came and snatched her handbag and dragged her on the road for more than a meter. That's how she gets the cuts and wounds on her cheek and she also showed me the cuts and wounds on her left arm, elbow, thigh, knee and ankle. Poor woman.

It is really beyond me how daring these people are to commit these sort of crime and how pathetic it is to do it on older ladies who they know are weak. This is not the first time I heard of this incident, and I have this sick feeling that it will not stop. I guess the only thing we can do is to avoid it... at whatever way possible. So Ladies, it's a jungle out there... be careful wherever you go.
