Why Oh Why?

I heard from a friend today that someone i.e. her friend is thinking about doing an abortion.

This isn't the first time I've came across this issue. Back in my schooling years, I thought it was the only solution to unwanted pregnancy. And then, as I grow older I still hear about this... Even from someone who I thought was matured enough & able enough to bring a child into the world.

It is beyond me as to why this thought even cross their mind... If they do not want pregnancy in the first place, I am sure that they knew how to prevent them. Haven't they heard of condom? I know some people are "shy" about buying condoms from a convenient store or the supermarket. I remember a particular moment when I did my monthly groceries shopping about 2 years ago. At the check out counter, I took out a box of condoms and put it on the counter.. The cashier looked at me on my face in horror as if buying a condom was such a sin! And I could hear whispers among the other cashiers as I left the supermarket. I mean, what is so shameful about taking a step to prevent pregnancy? Is it so silly? I didn't think so, and I thought it's a smart move especially if you are not ready for the consequences of a hot sex, apart from not getting any.

Back to the abortion, I know some people including myself who are wishing that one day we can call a child our own. And a child will complete our married life and bring us closer as family. We will be proud parents and we will be happy to tell our friends & family about our children's development. And when there are people like me who want children so badly and couldn't conceive them; and there's people who throw away the chance of having the gift of love...? I just couldn't comprehend..
