Golden stray

Just last week, I took the girls shopping for our party and dropped by at a dog training center located about 10 minutes drive from the house. At 2 years old, I think Noah is ready to be trained for tricks. So, we went to visit this dog training place to see how it looks like and more importantly, to find how much it will cost me.

We had a lengthy Q&A session with the master trainer, Carlos who happens to be some famous dog trainer I suspected to be South American. He gave me all the detail I needed to know about their center. Our conversation drifted to the part of his customers abandoning their dogs at his center for God knows what reasons. He then introduced us to Ashley, a 5-year old Golden Retriever who was abandoned there and has completed his training. She's a pretty dog and very friendly, smart too. Carlos showed us some tricks with Ashley and we were impressed. Carlos thought that I should adopt Ashley... They girls quickly agreed but of course, I had to discuss this with Bo. After all, adopting Ashley means we have to increase our pet expenses and it's not cheap as it is now already.

We went home and discussed with Bo. With heavy hearts, I had to reject the decision of adopting Ashley... The girls were obviously disappointed. It's sad but it's a big responsibility and I don't think they are ready for another dog in the house with Noah requiring their attention almost all the time.

Strangely enough, last Tuesday while my guests were almost gone and we were saying goodbyes at the gate, a brown/golden color dog of unknown breed came to the house. Bo tried chasing him away but he refused. He insisted on coming into our house compound. When we closed the gate, he sat just outside as if saying "Let me in, please....". He looked so sad and hungry that we let him in and fed him with Noah's dry food. Boy, that dog was so hungry that one bowl wasn't enough for him.

The very next day, Bo and me printed out a poster of a 'DOG FOUND' and sent it to the guard house. It's been 2 days and nobody has claimed him yet. Poor doggie, we didn't know what to call him so we named him Angel...

We just came back from our dinner and we found that Angel is missing... He might have escaped through the front gate and hopefully has found his way home to his owner. I have a feeling though that he may return if he got lost again... at least here, he is being fed well.

To Lucy & Andy

Congratulations are in order for the new parents to be... Lucy & Andrew Graham. I was so happy when I heard the news back when I was still in KK that I shrieked and dad slammed on the brake pedal. Poor daddy, he was so shocked and I had to apologize to him over and over.

Anyway, it was one of the greatest news I received this year and I can't wait for the baby to pop out mid of next year... He/she is going to be a cute baby and I am so happy for them.

Congrats again Luce... Can't wait to see the little one...

Elisia vs Monologo

Yesterday, I was invited to view the latest jewelries collection by Bulgari. I was excited and also worried at the same time, worried that most of the jewelries will seduce me and I have to use my power of persuasion over Bo so hard and that I may need to negotiate with him...

I know most of you may disagree with me (especially you, Luce) that I find Bulgari makes the most beautiful jewelries especially chunky ones.

Anyway, Bulgari Pavilion was showing their new collection Elisia (as pictured above). The invitation was exclusive and when we arrived, there were less than 10 people in the store. We were served with nice wine (I must ask them what wine it was the next time I go to Bulgari) and a private tour around the store. They have this isolated room where they put the new collection and only 3 people are allowed in at a time. When it was time to touch and hold the new Elisia, it took my breath away. The full diamond ring was humongous and the price can buy me a nice corner lot somewhere in Shah Alam! But it wasn't the Elisia diamond ring that caught my attention, it was the Monologo with Full Diamond. Now, I know wearing something that screams the designer's name is so 'faux pas' but this one is extra-ordinary. I could already imagine myself wearing it at cocktail functions. However, I couldn't afford to buy it..... (not yet!) and so I have to part with it with heavy heart.

We made some purchases but it wasn't enough to make Yusoff a happier salesperson. But, I have a motivation to make more money before Christmas, or better still, motivated to make Bo a happier husband so I can receive a small packaging with Bulgari's name all over it...

Wish me luck, people...! And oh, I want to share the Monologo ring video with you so you can understand my feelings right now.

Roses are red

Remember this rhyme?

Roses are red, violets are blue
My friends are great, especially you.

When we were in school, I bet almost everyone has used this rhyme for friends. I have too. So when Hannie gave me a rose to post in my blog, this rhyme came to mind.

Thanks Hannie for the rose. And I would like to pass it along to Lucy, Q, Carol, Sabrina, Shemah Syura & Rozella.

Reunion

During my recent trip back to KK, I had the chance to get reunited with an old friend. The last time I met her was almost ten years ago. I was excited to see her, to see how she looks like and more importantly what's new with her life.

We made a date to meet in town and we went for coffee. I heard she already has a daughter from a mutual friend not a long time ago. She must be different now, of course now that she's a mother. I was reminded of the times when we were just teenagers, worried about boys rather than studies... How we bluffed our way into clubs claimed we were at legal age. Escaping from parents to go out to parties so that we can be with our boyfriends... Those days are long gone now, as I am reminded when I saw her.

She hasn't changed much since the last time I remember saw her. Except for the extra kilos and a kid on tow. That in a way made me thought how far we left our teenage years behind and how matured we are now physically.

Anyway, I managed to get a copy of her and her daughter for darling Lucy to see. The three of us, we were partners in crime...
