It's already the 3rd day of 2009. This is my first post for this New Year.
So what did I do on New Year's day? I know most people woke up late due to the heavy partying the night before, right? I woke up quite late too... But it was not because I was out & about partying, because I was up watching the Pirates trilogy until way past midnight. All about 9 hours. And at 12 midnight, I took out the left-over champagne from Christmas and drank a glass... (Hey! they still pop!)
Anyway, on New Year's day, after late brunch, I took my sister to the movie. I wanted to watch 'Australia'. The queue at the ticket counter was endless but luckily I made an online reservation, so I got to cut the queue, ethically. So since the were 2 of us, and all the middle back rows were occupied, we had to get the seats at the sides... you know, those that come in 3's and a favorite among lovebirds. We were seating right in between to sets of those tudung-clad/ badly trimmed goatees couples. One behind us, another one in front of us.
I'm not being racist or whatever term you want to label me with here. But I can't stand those 2-faced tudung-clad and their boyfriends/fiances/husbands with their PDAs (To those who's unfamiliar with this abbreviation, PDA stands for Public Display of Affection) all the time, almost everywhere I go here in Malaysia. And especially in that dark cold room of a cinema's, I suspect they do more than watching movie, if you know what I mean. And that particular New Year day, as I was seating in between 2 sets of them, I could hear noises that I swear sounded like people smooching. But it wasn't until it sounded like they were having sex that my sister and I decided to move away from them. We didn't even mind that we had to tilt out heads almost 90 degrees upwards.
The movie was good though. It was funny, sad and educational all at the same time. But I guess there were some who didn't know what was the movie about, just that it's a 3 hour movie... Enough time for them to be romancing their tudung wearing girlfriends. I wonder if the tudung was a way of covering the boy's hand that were rubbing her you-know-what... Hmmm...
I would enjoy the movie more without these people around, but hey, it's a free country. But if it's a free country, why is Yoga banned for the Muslim? When what they really should band is the tudung, because it's so misleading. I've been raving enough in this post, I'll talk on my view of the tudung next time. Until then.

yes, about the banning of BM in The Herald publication. Only BI, Chinese and Tamil are allowed. This was a follow up after the banning to use the word 'Allah' in the Christian teaching - verbal or non verbal.
