Gone too soon

Wow, what a weekend!

I woke up feeling rather tired yesterday... Bo couldn't sleep, the air-con in my room back at my parents' wasn't functioning. When I woke up, he was at the computer and told me that Michael Jackson has passed away... I was shocked of course.. Oh no! He's one of my 'concerts' wish list.. In fact, he's at number 2 of that list after Tina Turner. I was just telling Bo last month that if I could get hold of his concert tickets in London in July, I'd go... Of course Bo didn't really want me to go, what with H1N1 and all...

I went to watch CNN and I also learned that Farrah Fawcett too has gone... Unlike MJ's death, FF's cause of death was known right away to be of cancer. But Farrah Fawcett's death did not leave me as shocked as Michael Jackson's death... In fact, the news saddened me...

Whenever I listen to his songs, they always remind me of my childhood. Of the times when my youngest uncle was babysitting me and my brother after his school... He would put on the cassette and tried to imitate Michael Jackson's moonwalking, to amuse us and we would laugh our asses off because he looked ridiculous! Almost moronic! I am sure most of you have your own memories whenever you listen to his songs.

On that same day too, I heard of another death... of a relative. He's a nobody, so the news of his death came later than the 2 celebrities, though he died the night before. He's not a close relative, in fact I didn't even know who my parents were talking about until they described to me who he was.. His death too saddened me. You see, he was never married and obviously was childless. He had a piece of land and he donated that land to the community and turned it into a cememtery. My grandfather was buried there. He had been reserving the centre of the cemetery for his own grave. That particular spot has been empty for 30 years now and now it's his final resting place... Knowing that nobody would do this to him, he had his cemetery cemented. Poor guy...

Oh well, life has to go on.. On my way back from KK, I listened to MJ's songs on my Ipod, that's my way of mourning his death. Like the Beatles & Elvis Presley, he's gone too soon, but won't be forgotten.

Guess I have to re-write my concert wish list... Stevie Wonders may be on top of that list now, since Tina Turner is retiring for good.

:-(

I was very fortunate to have seen MJ live in Malaysia, and trust me on this, once you've seen an MJ concert, no other concert will ever come near!

He recreated his music videos on stage! EPIC.

RIP MJ. I don't know how long until I overcome this loss, but in the meantime, I shall continue flooding FB and my blog on the King of Pop.
