Midnight flight

I'm leaving for KK this evening. Another "going-against-body-clock" flight because I'll be arriving at midnight. I hope I won't be a zombie tomorrow morning since even on the first day, I have so many things to do and people to see. My dad already arranged a round of golf for me for tomorrow, if only he asked me first. We'll see.

It's going to be a hectic week in KK but I really don't mind.

Last night, Mel & Dan came for dinner. I am a bad hostess, I got Mel to cook for almost everything! And she's an excellent cook! I am so going to bring back all the fresh seafood from KK and get Mel to cook them when I return... (Ok ka tu, Moi?) We found out last night that we are somehow related... We got to find that out through Mel's story of his dead cousin, who died of an accident on the first night of Chinese New Year, Who happens to be my cousin too! Let's say it together now, "WHAT A SMALL WORLD!"...

By the way, the Malaysia Airlines sales is on today & tomorrow for just 2 days only. I managed to get a seat for my youngest sister to come visit in April for only RM138 return! That's cheaper than Airasia! At least, we don't need to pay for the food and the checked baggage. So, if you have the intention to travel around Malaysia after March, hurry up to Malaysia Airlines website.

Did I mention? I got my KK - KL ticket for only 99RM?

A little late is better than never!

I barely unpacked my luggage from the London trip, already I am repacking for KK trip. These packing & unpacking have been tiring and confusing to me.

I am coming home to KK for the Chinese New Year celebration. I know it's a little late but I scheduled it like that because I know for the immediate week of the Chinese New Year holidays, many favorite 'kedai kupi' will be closed. I wouldn't want to miss the eating part... Bo knows this too well, he knows how I missed the KK foods, especially the Chinese delicacies.

I hope Wan Wan opens on the day he arrives, because that's his favorite. The kepala ikan soup is just out of this world! And then, I'm going to take him to Menggatal for Ngiu Chap, Salut or maybe Gayang for seafood... My tummy growling now. I'm hungry! and nothing in my fridge is going to whet my appetite and my fridge is almost perfect!

Haiya!!! Cannot wait to get home already!

Oh! Before I forgot, Gong Xi Fatt Chai! May the year of the OX brings you prosperity and health in abundance...

Home already..

The excitement ended. Not because the trip's over but because the holidays are coming to an end. It will not until May do we get to have another looong holiday. Let's talk about my trip to London while the memories are still fresh in my head.

I managed to get my seat upgraded to Business Class, guess I need to collect the Enrich Miles again before my next long haul flight. So, my way over was comfortable and the service was excellent. The seat next to me was empty so that was a bonus. I got to put my carry-on on the seat and not on the overhead compartment, so reaching for my stuffs was a breeze.

I reached London at a little bit after 4 pm and it was already dark, went straight to Lucy's house. Naturally, it was very cold. After all, it's winter. I was glad that Lucy's house was so cozy and I slept like a baby... Something I normally don't do on my first night on a foreign place. Goes to show that though I traveled in comfortable seat, the long hour in the plane was still so exhausting.

We didn't waste our precious time; we went straight to Bicester Village the next day. I didn't go there the last time I was in London. I guess the first time around was more for sight seeing and all that tourists activities. Since this particular visit was on a mission and that was to shop, we went straight to business. Bicester Village is like a shopping heaven for people who like designers at marked down price tags.

As you can guess, the rest of the one week I was there was more on shopping again, I shopped like there were no tomorrow. We went to Harrods, Selfridges & Co, Harvey Nichols and my favorite, Bond Street. And the amount of people was crazy! I hardly could move around Harrods without bumping into other people. I guess, despite the economic downturn, people really took advantage of the Winter/January Sale (equivalent to if not bigger than our Malaysia's Grand Sale).

But there were 2 events that left me with excitement even after they're over. One is the theater where we watched Phantom of the Opera and then the NKOTB concert.

The Phantom was so good that it left me & Lucy crying towards the end. I had to stop the tears though, didn't want my fake lashes to get destroyed. It was like a dream come true, the experience. I always wanted to watch the Phantom ever since I know how to appreciate musicals years ago. It's like the biggest play of all time, and it never come to Malaysia… And I wanted to watch it a couple of years ago but Bo didn’t so I knew I had to make another trip to London to be able to watch it.

NKOTB concert brought back my childhood memories. I remember worshipping them when I was an innocent teenager, hung on to their every lyrics... wished that somehow, someday that they'd make it to our little state Sabah for a concert. As a teenager, I thought I'd never be able to travel the world just to see 5 gorgeous boys sing. Those 5 gorgeous boys have turned into 5 gorgeous, sexy, yummy men.

On the second last day I was in London, we went to a Chinese New Year Lunch at London's Chinatown. After lunch, we went back and I spent the rest of the evening packing back my luggage for the trip back home. I couldn't wait to get back, because I wanted to show Bo what I bought for him and my family. Couldn't wait to tell him how much money I saved by buying my bags & jewelries in London instead of KL. Above all, just couldn't wait to see him, I missed him so much!

I bought so many stuffs that my bags were overweight by 19 kg! I was charged ₤191.00 (around 900RM)... I felt bad but I'm not complaining. Only on one bag purchase, the saving of buying it in London already paid 80% of the airfare + the excess baggage charges.

I arrived KL on Tuesday 7 am and already I felt the warmth of the Sun ray and boy was I glad to be home...

Hello from London

Sorry for not updating in a while. Been very busy and just recovered from jet lag (not sure if I'm fully recovered yet). My schedule has been quite full and Lucy has been taking me to all the places I've been wanting to go.

Will tell youguys more about it when I return. At the moment, time is precious!

P/S: Not going sight seeing this time around since it has amazed me the first time around and it was enough.

Cheers people!

Full speed ahead!

I know I should have started packing last week. I thought I'd have the time to pack this week since Dad & Bo left for Jakarta yesterday and won't be back until Friday. I thought with both of them out of my way, I can do my packing nicely & orderly & timely.

Guess I have to postpone packing again until God knows when. Out of the blue, yesterday a friend from KK called saying that she's in town and wanted to meet up for drinks. We made plan to meet but we didn't know where to go... Since it's short a notice, I didn't make any booking anywhere.

So at half past 10pm, I fetched her from Concorde Hotel where she's staying. We drove down to Jalan Doraisamy (famously known as Asian Heritage Row) only to find it's like a dead small town. With no music and nobody in sight. Then, we made our way back onto Jalan Sultan Ismail and went on Jalan P. Ramlee where I decided maybe I should just park the car and walk along the street to see if any of the clubs' worth patronizing (I am not a fan of that area, remember?). But except for Thai Bar & Beach Club, almost all of the clubs were empty and silent! After I parked my car by the road side and got charged RM15 by the illegal parking attendance (I only realized this later, after I paid him), we decided to check out Rum Jungle.

It was my first time at the Rum Jungle, was not impressed. Interior looked familiar, oh I know, it's almost the same as Beach Club minus the crowd & the sleazy girls. Even the sharks looked almost identical to the ones in Beach Club. Did I say, I wasn't impressed at all.

Anyway, as unimpressed as I was, we still had fun nonetheless. We basically had the club all to ourselves. After the drinking (I was the designated driver, so I just had a glass of Cranberry Vodka that lasted the whole night), we went for supper at Nasi Lemak Antarabangsa and chatted until we forgot the time.

I was so tired.. It was a long day yesterday and I was running errands the whole afternoon so I was basically already exhausted even before the dancing. So, when my head finally hit the pillow at almost 4 am, I went straight to sleep.

Today I woke up at 10 am! There goes Noah's morning walk... I sat typing in this entry and it hit me, no wonder there was no crowd last night, it's Monday!

It's going to be a very busy week... with 2 more people coming to visit and Dad & Bo's coming back from their Jakarta trip this weekend. *sigh*

Slim & pink

I don't know what have gotten into me today!

I went to Low Yat again today. Fuji has been doing tricks on me again this morning, refusing to start up. I was so frustrated and angry because it was only exactly 8 days ago that I had it repaired. So, after I finished watching the last 3 final episodes of Prison Break Season 4, I packed Fuji up and dragged Bo all the way to Low Yat. When Boon handled it, miraculously it started up just fine. WTF! Fuji seems to be having a mind of its own. And apparently there's nothing wrong with it. I left it with Boon for about an hour for him to really make sure that it's ok, and when we returned, it was OKAY! Can you believe it??

I just wasted my gas & toll money and precious energy to bring it in to the service center for nothing!

On the way back though, something slim and pink attracted me to this game store. I have always wanted to buy a Nintendo WII since my first try at my cousin's last August. I was not really a gamer, but I like Yahoo games... you know all those kiddies games just to past time and got me addicted in no time. And the recent visit of my brother's & cousin's got me thinking of getting a game console again. My bro has been saying that I should get PS3, cousin thought I should get WII since it's fun & 'physical'. I couldn't make up my mind so I put off getting any if those for some time.

Back to that slim & pink thingy. I was so drawn to it that I knew right there & then, I had to get it right away. I did... But it's not pink, apparently the pink one has been discontinued and the sales guy actually convince me that if I want to get it, I might as well get the latest one. And the latest one comes only in either Metallic Blue or Metallic Silver. I chose silver, naturally.

I know, I am pretty much way in touch with the tomboyish little girl inside me. But you know what, who's complaining? I won't get bored waiting anywhere, anytime... and definitely won't be bored on those long hauled flights in the future.

P/S: Anybody knows where I can get good PSP games online for download? Please?

I'm sick!

I bet, those of you who watch TV as much as I am, is now getting sick!

They are several marathon going on at some of my favorite channels. Well, I was happy when they ran Monk marathon a few weeks back since I missed some episodes and I never get bored with the show, Monk is funny! Except that I didn't really have the time to sit around watching the whole thing.

However, Reality Shows marathon like the American Idol & American Top Model or something like that - these are making me sick. It's over! It's not fun to watch reality shows like that when you know who was gonna win at the end. There's no surprise elements to it anymore, right? So, what fun is it in there?

But all these marathons don't even come close to getting me so much irritated as the constant reminder of Mawi & Ekin wedding. Honestly, do people still take that Mawi guy seriously? I know he won some local show called Akademi Fantasia a few years back. His winning wasn't fair and it put me off local talent show ever since then. I never watched that AF show since he won, seriously... And now, they even want to do a show on how he prepares his wedding? Come on people, I seriously got sick and puked my heart content!

He hasn't done anything wrong to me, he doesn't even know of my existence... But I really hate him! For the reasons I can't really explain. I get irritated & annoyed by just looking at him. He's everything I hate.

I hope I won't go to jail for voicing this out in the open like this. I actually gave it a long thought, should I or should I not write things like this... But another one of those reminders came out again, on AXN while on commercial break... Really, that does it for me. Why are they wasting airtime to let people know about his wedding getting coverage on TV??

I have to vent out this annoyance and irritation... Hence, this post.

It's officially over

The girls came back from long Uni break yesterday. They were pleasantly surprised at the bedroom makeover I did for them. At least I hope they were... and they sure looked like it.

Bo is coming back from Batam tonight. I missed him so much, I'm thinking of taking out the lingerie that I keep for special occasions... You know those occasions when you forgot to buy something for him for his birthday or anniversary.

I am sure the traffic tomorrow will be terrifying, since it's the first day of school. Luckily, I won't be one of the childless people who has to go through the heavy traffic together with hundreds of parents, just to get to work, not anymore. I used to wake up super early just to avoid the traffic, going out at 8 in the morning spelled trouble for me. I would be the first to arrive in the office and would only put on my makeup at the office bathroom after breakfast at the office pantry alone. Those days are gone...

All these can only mean one thing... The holidays are officially over!

Welcome back to the working life, people!

Movie that was

It's already the 3rd day of 2009. This is my first post for this New Year.

So what did I do on New Year's day? I know most people woke up late due to the heavy partying the night before, right? I woke up quite late too... But it was not because I was out & about partying, because I was up watching the Pirates trilogy until way past midnight. All about 9 hours. And at 12 midnight, I took out the left-over champagne from Christmas and drank a glass... (Hey! they still pop!)

Anyway, on New Year's day, after late brunch, I took my sister to the movie. I wanted to watch 'Australia'. The queue at the ticket counter was endless but luckily I made an online reservation, so I got to cut the queue, ethically. So since the were 2 of us, and all the middle back rows were occupied, we had to get the seats at the sides... you know, those that come in 3's and a favorite among lovebirds. We were seating right in between to sets of those tudung-clad/ badly trimmed goatees couples. One behind us, another one in front of us.

I'm not being racist or whatever term you want to label me with here. But I can't stand those 2-faced tudung-clad and their boyfriends/fiances/husbands with their PDAs (To those who's unfamiliar with this abbreviation, PDA stands for Public Display of Affection) all the time, almost everywhere I go here in Malaysia. And especially in that dark cold room of a cinema's, I suspect they do more than watching movie, if you know what I mean. And that particular New Year day, as I was seating in between 2 sets of them, I could hear noises that I swear sounded like people smooching. But it wasn't until it sounded like they were having sex that my sister and I decided to move away from them. We didn't even mind that we had to tilt out heads almost 90 degrees upwards.

The movie was good though. It was funny, sad and educational all at the same time. But I guess there were some who didn't know what was the movie about, just that it's a 3 hour movie... Enough time for them to be romancing their tudung wearing girlfriends. I wonder if the tudung was a way of covering the boy's hand that were rubbing her you-know-what... Hmmm...

I would enjoy the movie more without these people around, but hey, it's a free country. But if it's a free country, why is Yoga banned for the Muslim? When what they really should band is the tudung, because it's so misleading. I've been raving enough in this post, I'll talk on my view of the tudung next time. Until then.
