Sorting out my life!

The past week has been hectic for me. My youngest sister is here for a holiday while waiting for her university intake in July. We have also decided to move into the apartment by the first week of May. Guess KK trip has to wait another week... :(

I got the mover to deliver a few boxes yesterday so I can start with de-cluttering. Some of the furniture won't fit and some items are just junk. Boy, the junks could fill a small room! It's a good feeling though... getting rid of some old stuffs. I started with the study/home-office. You wouldn't believe what sort of documents I found... Valentine's Day card from 2004, receipts from 1997(!?) etc. etc. Getting the paper shredder sure helps a lot! I sorted out all my account & credit cards statements, utility bills and insurance documents and shredded all that either expired or was issued in 2007 or before. I couldn't believe that in the files, I'd still keep bills from 2004, the year I moved here from Sabah! It was so many that I had to oil the shredder machine twice! But I enjoyed doing it... and nothing beats the feeling after it was done! I feel so much more organized and lighter!

Last night, I de-cluttered my wardrobe. Since I quit smoking, some of my clothes shrunk! So, I gathered my sisters and got them to choose whichever they want and the rest will go to other relatives or charity. Though, I am still unsure if I should give an orphanage home some of my party outfits. I know they'd enjoy my baju kurungs since I wore each of them only once, but backless tops & spaghetti straps? Also, I am not sure if some of my shoes will fit them? Maybe I'll just give them to friends or other relatives. But who'd want 2 pair of worn out boots, a be-dazzled wooden clog & a pink pump? Maybe I should just throw them away... My sisters hoped that I'd give up my bags, but those are the things that I invested so much on and since they are all classics and will never shrink on me, I'll keep them to pass to my daughters one day.

I got rid and gave away a lot of things... If I were to sell them, I may get some money. But really, I don't have time putting them up in Ebay or Mudah. I guess it won't be any loss anyway.

But of all the things that I gave up, there is one thing that really made me sad. I shed tears last night. One thing that definitely won't fit into the apartment even if I throw the whole house content away is Angel. I blogged about him last year. He came to us almost a year ago in the first months we stayed in this house. During the time he was with us, we took really good care of him. We groomed him, fed him with quality dog food, nurse him, vaccinated him and castrated him. When a friend decided to adopt him, I was relieved because I know for sure that this friend is also a dog lover like me and he has a couple of dogs already and he has huge land area in his house and he also has dog houses. I am sure that Angel is in good hands and will be well taken care of. But it was still a sad parting nonetheless. We have grown fond of him and he has already adapted to our commands. Last night, while we put him in my friend's car, he looked at us with sad eyes. I didn't even want to take pictures because it was so heart breaking.

On a happier note, I didn't have to send him to PAWS or SPCA. Thanks to our friend, we can visit him anytime we want... And when Bo called just now, he was told that Angel is adapting well to his new surroundings and new friends, he's already happy to be able to run around!

But, I will still miss his presence... and his very 'Angelic' attitude.

Breakfast at Tiffany's?

I just love that movie. Such a classic!

But I'm not going to blog about the movie. I'm just borrowing the title, but mine should read "Tea at LV"... Louis Vuitton that is!

Coming home yesterday, I saw this shocking pink envelope in my mail. I was excited! I know it's invitation to something chic... Because bills or lawyer's mail are always white, right? So, whenever I received mails with envelope of different colors, I'd get excited.

The invitation is for this coming Wednesday. The invitation says I can bring a friend...The one friend that I always take to this kind of events will not be free :( Anyone out there who wants to come with me? Let me know before Tuesday.. I need to call for RSVP.. Mel? Nicole? Anyone?

Another Tsunami in 2009?

I received this forwarded email from an aunt. We were talking about traveling to Indonesia when she casually mentioned that she received the said email. Although we can't confirm the truth to this claim, it's better be prepared and be safe than be sorry.

The email stated that a Tsunami will hit again in July 22nd this year. Below is the whole contain of the email:

“Hello there. I just wanted 2 let you know that please stay away from the beaches all around in the month of July. There is a prediction that there will be another tsunami hitting on July 22nd. It is also when there will be sun eclipse. Predicted that it is going 2 be really bad and countries like Malaysia (Sabah & Sarawak), Singapore, Maldives, Australia, Mauritius, Si Lanka, India, Indonesia, Philippines are going 2 be badly hit. Please try and stay away from the beaches in July. Better 2 be safe than sorry. Please pass the word around. Please also pray for all beings.”

Really, I don't know how true this is... I mean, if it's gonna hit Asia big, why isn't it in the news or something? I mean, I always see the AF promo on commercial breaks but I'm sure this is more important event. Don't you think?

Ah well, let's just hope it's a hoax...

Pack up!

It's barely a year since we moved here from Subang and now we are moving again.

I remember how excited I was about moving to bigger house, with backyard and front lawn. I wanted to do gardening and I could bring Noah out for his daily walks without having to worry about getting the 'warning look' from the security guards. I thought the 'suburban' area will be perfect for me.

After just half a year, I got bored. I don't like staying in a big house. I wanted to go back to my old apartment, but unfortunately it's already taken by someone else. So, everyday I went online just to find condos or apartments with big enough space for me to put all my furniture but small enough for me to maintain without the help of cleaning maids. You see, I enjoy cleaning house but when the house is big, I'd give up. Cleaning my current house would take me more than 2 hours everyday. Every time I clean the house, I'd be wishing to go back to an apartment where it'd be easier to clean and takes less time cleaning.

Yesterday, Bo & me viewed this condo unit near the club. It's perfect! The owners are an elderly Chinese couple and they are so nice! My number one concern is Noah, that's why I'm picky when it comes to choosing a house. This owner actually okay with me having Noah in the unit as long as we don't cause our neighbors any disturbance. But we checked and the unit on our right side is occupied by Chinese so they would not mind (I hope!) and the left side is so far away.. Our unit is a corner unit so that's another plus factor. The owner must not be Muslim, as I have a dog and I am not willing to part ways with him and it won't be fair if I just bring Noah in without telling the owner. So, the condo unit we viewed yesterday is just perfect! With 1500 sq ft, 3 rooms and a store room, that's just perfect! And this unit comes with a kitchen cabinet, my top requirement.

So, I'd probably be very busy in the next month. I'll be doing checklist for the moving and the same process will begin again. Luckily, I have had 'a moving experience' and it'll be easier this time around.

A new wish list...

I know I blogged about my wish list more than a year ago. Well, things have changed. Some wishes have been answered, and I have a feeling writing it in a blog has something to do with it.

And that's why I think I am going to list a new wish list hoping that they are going to materialize. Again... This may sound greedy, but hey! I'm sticking to my earlier note "a girl won't get enough of the world's many splendid thing.."

Last year, I was hoping to get a Pink Ostrich Birkin. That didn't come true. Bo thought that spending more than 50k for a bag is absurd. I've never stopped wishing for it though... But I changed it to a less expensive bag and guess what? It was easier to achieve (of course!). I also wished for a Tag Heuer watch, a Cartier Love bangle, a Chopard Happy Diamond and a new car. I have excitedly crossed a couple of them off the list. And I am ready to present a new list (again, hoping that someone read this and act on it!)

Actually, I have a lot of numbers in that list but for now, I'm giving just 5 so it's not going to cause a heart attack or something!

1) Still an Hermes bag - but this time it can be either Birkin or Kelly... any of this will make me jump for joy

2) At least a carat solitaire in a ring with the perfect "Cs" - I have my eye on the Hearts On Fire by Habib Jewel but a cushion cut would be nice too!
]3) A loft near the KLCC - Not for me to stay, but for investment. As pricey as they are, they give good returns. I do like Hampshire Park. Hmmm...

4) Still in the list (sadly...), a love bangle by Cartier. I wish for one that comes with diamonds. Therefore, will be needing more time to get one. This makes a good Christmas present end of this year.

5) A new Iron Set from Callaway, any model would be nice. I'm contemplating, you see.. whether to get this or the classic Chanel Ballerina pump... Choices, choices... why can't I just have both? Oh ya! both of them are expensive and about the same price!

OR

So, this is what I set to achieve this year... Hope they'll come true!

Soccer mom wannabe?

On the way home last night, Bo & me had a little conversation about changing my car. We tentatively made the decision that he'd take my car and I'll get to choose a brand new one! Although, he hinted repeatedly that Mini Cooper S series would be the ultimate car for me. Of course, he's the one who "secretly" hoping to drive it around! As if I don't know that already.

Anyway, I've been having Mercy for that last couple of years. It's fun and she has been nice to me. Hardly given me any problem at all. Only flat tyre once in the last 2 years. But changing Mercy to Mini Cooper will defeat the whole purpose of getting a new car. What a smaller 2-doors car can do to replace (and do a better job at it...) a bigger 2-doors car that has never given me any problem and can fit my golf bag and Bo's too.

So, here's what I'm thinking... and at the same time hoping you guys can tell me what will be the ultimate car for me. I want something with 4 doors of course, not a sedan or compact preferably, yet still something cute and sleek, performance wise I don't really care as I'm not one who race on the freeway. Basically, this car will be more for my trips to the markets, and to the golf clubs (so rear compartment must be spacious) and most importantly, it should be more of a family car.

Here's what I've been considering... Let me know your thought!

100 Greatest Songs of the 90's...

I was watching MTVasia casually when I was getting ready to go out. The program showed caught my attention. Being a teenager in the 90's, I can say that it's my era. And I was excited of my favorites made the list. Unfortunately, I had to go out therefore missing half of the show.

Out of boredom, I googled the list... and here it is... I'm disappointed with their choice for number 1. Am never a fan of Nirvana's (that's why...)

Blackstreet & Will Smith shouldn't be so low in the list... Spice Girls & Britney Spears shouldn't even make it in the list.. Meredith Brook reminds me of a funny conversation I had with a girlfriend back then.

I guess they picked their choices based on the popluarity, on how many weeks the song made it on their no. 1 list. Because if you ask me, I would give you a totally different list. Then again, our tastes in music are different.

Of tests & scan..

I visited the gynecologist yesterday, which made me nervous & anxious.

You see, we want to start conceiving this year (hopefully) and both me & Bo would like to start with a healthy condition. So, we decided to do a series of test and scan to make sure that my body is capable of carrying a child.

So, I went to have a pap smear test and while we were at it, I got the young female doctor the perform breast cancer test on me. Of course it just involved her hands. The doctor actually suggested that I undergo mammogram but I know from my mom's stories that it's a painful procedure and not suitable for young, childless women. So, I just had my breast inspected with her bare hands, I didn't mind.

After these test, I had a scan. I was informed that they found a small cyst on my right tube. No wonder I had trouble conceiving. Not that the process is not fun! ;)

Fortunately, the doctor said that it's not life threatening and almost normal on most women. I was so relieved.

The pap smear result will come out within a month. I am nervous & anxious but at least if anything negative come out, I am ready to treat it. And I know it won't be too late. The test is not painful, it's just a simple procedure where the doctor takes a tissue sample from the wall of the vagina. The sample will be then tested in the lab to look for abnormality.

Have you done the test? It's unspoken rule that every woman who have been sexually active to undergo this test once a year.

I did mine at HUKM for only RM70.00. Private clinics may charge a little bit more.

What's in a bag?

I am so excited, I just have to blog about this.

Barely recovered from flu & fever, Bo took me out for a little golf shopping yesterday. He wanted to buy a top cover for his golf bag, the one he has is torn. It so happened that my golf bag also needed replacement. Not that I have like 3 already but just like clothes and shoes, they go out of fashion in just 4 months... hehehe... besides, the one I have is already broken, I guess due to the rough handling in the cargo. I travel with my golf set to almost everywhere. What better excuses to give oneself, right? Especially when the guys at MST showed me the newly arrived Callaway bag set in Black & Pink! I just have to have it.

I bought a new golf bag and a new boston bag from the same range.. They now match my glove, raincoat, my pink teddybear club head cover, my pink balls, and even my pink cellphone! Enough of this madness, I just want to share with you guys the pictures.

BTW, did you know that Justin Timberlake is now one of Callaway's endorsed golfers? Story is here.

The Greatest American Dog

When the show aired in Star World recently, I got hooked. I watched it since the early episode. It's been 10 weeks now and the winner has been announced. I'm glad that it's Travis & Presley. Not because he's as cute as his puppy Presley but because how adorable they are as a couple.

Here's an extended story of their winning . And a picture of them (courtesy of newsok.com)
