When I first saw it through a link a friend posted in Facebook, the video was viewed a little bit over 2 millions times.
And then, when I opened the link again just after 2 days, I was shocked to see that it has reached over 7 millions views! WOW! Must be the exposure they get on TV.
Mel & Dan, maybe something like this for your wedding? :)
P/S: The song sort of grows on me by now... Forever by Chris Brown (Stand to be corrected though)
Strangely, it was my American cousin who first introduced me to Zee Avi's music. A fan of jazzy beat, it was a 'like at first sound' for me.
My cousin didn't know where exactly Zee Avi comes from, just that she's from Malaysia. I wasted no time, as the very day I heard about her, I went out to buy her CD. As I listened to her songs over and over again on my Itunes, I decided to google her... I was surprised to know she's actually from Miri, Sarawak.
Read her bio here. I like her music! I bet you do too!
I used to have two Malinois. Now, only one left. I 'adopted' Aidan from a friend just a little over a year ago when he was only 2 months! My intention was to bring him and Maia to KL when I was still staying at the landed house.
But paperwork was too much hassle. Since Malinois is a restricted breed, bringing them to Peninsular Malaysia was not easy... I had to write a letter to the Director of Veterinary Services in Putrajaya and explain why I need to bring them in. And believe me, I had to have a very, very good reason... Just to have them as pet was not strong a reason and they'd denied it. So, I had to forget my intention and just leave them in my parents house back in KK.
The backyard in my parents house is big... Big enough to have the two of them run around, the thing they like to do the most.. Since it's in their nature as Shepard dogs. It's always fun to see them run around as puppies.
Growing up, Aidan was a little slow. After the 6th month, you could see that Maia is much bigger than he was. But, what he lacked in size, he made up in personality. He's very obedient. When I had the vet injected microchip on their nape when they were merely 3 months old, he was the quiet one. He'd just surrender himself to Dr. Olivia, while Maia on the other hand almost bit Olivia's hand. But he didn't like to be threatened or challenged. He was very protective, very good guard dog.. He would bark the loudest when there was something strange around him.. After we got them around, our chicks never went missing!
But I don't know why 2 nights ago, when they were barking, our care-taker didn't check to see what was wrong... But he claimed he heard him bark like mad. Then the next morning, they discovered that Aidan has died from what appeared to be snake bite. With multiple 2 dots on his body. My dad didn't let me know right away... He texted me, asked where was I and to see if my sister has left for Jakarta yesterday. When I answered him I was playing golf, he decided not to throw the bad news at me. He just told me this afternoon.
Of course that left me crying. Bo told me he knew about this since yesterday but he couldn't bring himself to tell me, for fear that I might cry... Of course I would! And I'd find out about it sooner or later, so I don't understand the delay...
Anyway, I am heart broken... But these are the things that I have no control over. At least he didn't die of starvation or abuse. And I am sure he's enjoying himself running around in Doggie Heaven!
P/S: Aidan was the first dog I chose out of the two...
I have finished reading the book... In just 2 days. Made me feel like zombie yesterday, since I went to bed way past midnight the previous night.. (couldn't put down the book...) and then I had to wake up early to the Vet department, luckily it's just 10 minutes away.
Ok, I want to talk about the book... If you are a Sophie Kinsella's fan, you'd really look forward to this latest work of hers. Sophie Kinsella didn't disappoint me. It was a good read. Though I feel I liked the Shopoholic series & her earlier books (Can You Keep A Secret? & Undomesticated Goddess) more. It's just that they are more 'logical' than this one. But still, it's a good read... A good break from the 'serious books' I've been reading...
I am not going to 'copy & paste' the synopsis of the book. If you really want to know what it is about, visit Sophie Kinsella UK's website. It's cute!
Just so you know, there are two cover versions of the book... But I couldn't be bothered with choosing... After all, the content is all the same. It's not like the other one has been 'Americanized' like what happened to the Shopoholic movie (to my horror & major disappointment!).
So, any of you read the book? Please let me know your thought? Let see what you think about this one.
And already, I am waiting for her next book... *sigh*
I got these two jokes from an online forum I am a member of - Mybenz. I am not sure who the original author is therefore won't be able to give credits... However, they are so funny not to pass around! Enjoy!
A blonde walks into a bank in New York City and asks for the loan Officer. She says she’s going to Europe on business for two weeks and needs to borrow $5,000. The bank officer says the bank will need some kind of security for the loan, so the blonde hands over the keys to a new Mercedes Benz SL 500. The car is parked on the street in front of the bank. She has the Title, and everything checks out. The bank agrees to accept the car collateral for the loan. The bank’s president and its officers all enjoy a good laugh at the blonde for using a $110,000 Benz as collateral against a $5,000 Loan. An employee of the bank then proceeds to drive the Benz into the bank’s underground garage and parks it there. Two weeks later, the blonde returns. She repays the $5,000 and the interest, which comes to $15.41.The loan officer says, “Miss, we are very happy to have had your business, and this transaction has worked out very nicely, but we are a little puzzled. While you were away, we checked you out and found that you are a multimillionaire. What puzzles us is, why would you bother to borrow $5,000?”The blonde replies, “Where else in New York City can I park my car for two weeks for only $15.41 and expect it to be there when I return?”

On a golf tour in Newfoundland, Tiger Woods drives his Mercedes Benz into a gas station in a remote part of the island. The attendant at the pump greets him in a typical Newfoundland manner, completely unaware of who the golf pro is.
“Mornin’ bye” says the attendant.Tiger nods a quick “hello” and bends forward to pick up the nozzle. As he does so, two tees fall out out of his shirt pocket onto the ground.“What are dey den, son?” asks the attendant.“They’re called tees” replies Tiger.“Well, what on de good earth are dey for?” inquires the Newfie.“They’re for resting my balls on when I’m driving” says Tiger.“Freeckin Jaysus” says the Newfie, “Dem boys at Mercedes tink of everything”.
Still excited that I got my book... I haven't started yet.. I need to do a lot of things before I can finally sit on my couch with hot coffee and that book in my hand... What's 2 more days when I have waited for months, right?
Was busy day the whole day yesterday. I didn't sleep until 4.00 am in the morning... It's all because I was up showing my aunt clips from MJ memorial service on youtube... *Sigh*
Anyway, I am also excited to show off something else. When I first got my telephone, there was this brochure in the box about 'personalizing your phone' from MyDeco. I couldn't help but checking it out online. One thing lead to another, I ended up ordering one. And totally forgot about it until a tiny package arrived bearing my name last Saturday..
So boys & girls, I now have a very personalize battery cover for my new Nokia. Hehehe...couldn't resist putting on the website..
If you are interested in getting one for your Nokia, go to MyDeco website. A plenty of designs to choose from. I am already thinking of getting a spare one...
To say it's a tiring Sunday will be an understatement.
First of all, I woke super early today (the third time this week) for a round of golf with Bo and our friends. Not only I was basically still asleep all through the 18 holes, the hot but windy weather didn't help much either. My ball went everywhere but to the spot I wanted. Needless to say, I scored the highest today, the highest since I started playing golf a couple of years ago. There goes my coaching fee down the drain... :(
And then, right after golf I went home to fetch my aunt and cousin for a lunch somewhere, and then picked my sister up from her workplace. We went to Sunway Pyramid... Getting my car parked required my aunt to chant 'parking, parking, parking!' a hundred times. We finally got a spot! She claimed that her chanting worked.. Oh well..
We spent 6 hours in Sunway Pyramid! I had fun... and I got all excited when I finally got the book I was waiting for! Boohoo to MPH, I ordered from them since last month and they never called. I found my copy in Popular Bookstore.. I am so going back there next time!
So, here's some pictures from today.. Enjoy!
P/S: Do you notice the book I'm holding is the new Sophie Kinsella's Twenties Girl?? I am so excited! Can't wait to start flipping the pages already!
Aunt Linda received a text from my aunt Rosy not so long ago, when she first got her cellphone and signed up for free calls on weekend promotion. She was excited because she thought she could call home every weekend! That should cure her home sickness.
And, the text went like this...
Needless to say, Aunt Linda didn't reply... Hehehehe! So, aunt Rosy called everybody else instead. She received her bill at the end of the month for USD2000!! The promotion only valid for local calls...
Rosy: Emmie, I haven't got flight ticket back to Malaysia.
Emmie: When are you leaving?
Rosy: On the 10th...
Emmie: Oh, that's very near. Maybe I can book the ticket for you through my travel agent.
Rosy: Ok, thanks.
A few hours later....
Emmie: Hey Rosy, I couldn't book your ticket, the travel agent couldn't accept the name I gave.
Rosy: Oh no! What name did you give them?
Emmie: I told them it's for "Emmie's cousin"
Rosy: Oh really? Who's Emmies Cousin? Is she coming with us to Malaysia?
Emmie: No no, I told them to book your flight ticket using that name.
Rosy: (???) Ok.. I'll do it myself then..
This is a true story... Hehehe... I have 2 aunts living abroad with their families. One is in Chicago and the other one is in Canada (not sure the city). They come back to Malaysia once every couple of years.
Everytime they come back though, they never fail to be the laughingstock among my other aunts and uncles. It's just that they are so funny without even trying to be. I don't know why, but that's the way they are and I just love them for their antics. Hehehe!
Both are coming back this month, bringing their very westernized children and already giving us something to laugh about even before they landed!
It makes me wonder, how in the world were they able to survive in foreign countries??
I got a scare today... Bo called right after he got on the phone with my brother. Mom has been admitted to Queen Elizabeth Hospital.. Apparently, both her legs were swollen last night and it hurt her so bad, she couldn't sleep.
Then it dawned on me, while I was having fun at the course today, my mom was in agony. I felt like canceling my appointment with the beautician lady and the urges of getting the next flight home was so strong.
I tried calling my brother and everyone at home... I couldn't get through.. My nerves were running wild. I couldn't do anything! My heart was beating so fast that I thought I almost fainted for a moment there. I didn't give up... I scrolled through my cellphone and called just about everybody I could think of at home.
Nobody turned on their bloody phones! And my dad didn't answer his phone... He's still on his fishing trip with his cousin, so he won't be able to answer it anyway. I wondered if he knew about mom's situation.
And then, I got my youngest aunt on the phone.. Strangely, when I asked her about mom's condition, she wasn't aware of it. Confused, she told me she'd call me back. And she did. Not before I started to shed tears. She too tried calling my brother, my sister in law and my youngest sister but of course! being in the hospital, they turned their phone off. But my aunt, the smarty called my mom's phone and she got through! Now, why didn't I think of that??!
What a relief, my mom's ok.. It's just that she sprained her ankle and she exaggerated the pain by having someone to do reflexology yesterday. My brother took her to our family doctor and was told to do x-ray at the hospital... It's just that... I sighed the biggest relief in my entire life! She was already on the way home and even dropped by at her favorite kopitiam to get some buns , when I called her.
My brother panicked and called Bo, Bo panicked and called me.. I panicked and called everyone! I got even more panicked when I couldn't get through to anyone!
All panic attack aside, I am just relief & happy to know that mom's okay!
Yeay! I have finally get a new layout for my blog.. And I'm totally loving it. Cindy of Forevertulip.com designed this layout for me and she's such sweetie to deal with. I was excited to show it off when the design was finalized!
If you noticed, the images are of me and my furry family. The dog is Noah.. and some of you may not know this but I also have 2 Persian cats... The black one is Chloe, a female and the gray one is Mikko, a male. Mind you, they were named after real people. Chloe's French and Mikko's Danish.. hehehe.. Mikko knows I named a cat after him but Chloe doesn't!
Anyway, don't you just love the cuteness of the design? It even comes with a putting green.. Something I love and couldn't leave behind.. :)
On another note... I am happy to have finally bought a new computer... I slept through the thought of deciding what to get last night. Some of you suggested that I get a Macbook, you know, I actually loved the idea of getting one. However, I decided to get a desktop instead.. I spent less than half of what I could have been on a Macbook but this comes with everything I needed to work & surf with ease. Complete with a 20" flat screen and a full Altec Lansing sound system, I am just contented. Besides, the CPU is so cute! The name's Acer emachines, if you want to know. And by the way, Fuji miraculously repaired itself this morning!
I think she'd want to stay another year (or more) with me... :)
Since Fuji has been giving me lots of problems lately, I have finally decided to get a new laptop. It's hard to make this decision, because Fuji has been with me for more than 4 years now and it was a gift from myself when I was promoted (in my last job) for the second time in a year. Back then, the likes of Fuji were pricey and it was like a nice treat for me.
I am sad... to be saying goodbye to Fuji... I always do whenever I have to change something I like. It was a mixed feeling when I had to give Kellie away in exchange for Mercy a couple of years ago... Technically, Kellie is still mine... I haven't sold her completely and the registration card still bears my name. But now, Bo was telling me maybe it's time to let go of her, because she has been in too many accidents since somebody else started driving her around. Now that I know she won't be handled by someone I know sadden me...
I have decided to purchase a new laptop... I have started my survey... Might change to something of a totally new concept like Macbook or something. I can't seem to decide. I think I should give it more thought and sleep it through for a few nights before I swipe my card.
Fortunately, Bo lends me his gigantic laptop while I'm deciding, so I'm not really pressured for time. But this thing is getting heavier sitting on my lap by the minutes... tick tock!!
