what a flight!

And so I'm back...

There was no electricity when we left KK (my parent's house, to be exact) yesterday.. Made us leave about half an hour earlier than planned, since the heat was really crazy!

We were glad we got to the airport early... as we needed to go through double check for double booking.. Apparently, there were two flight tickets purchased for Bo.. so we have to change the second one to an open ticket for his next trip... Don't ask!

Got to the airport and had to get in a very long line to check in... So, my prediction was wrong... there ARE still a lot of people a week after the holiday. I purposely avoided travelling on the weekends because of this and it's still the same on a Tuesday... And most of them were universities students. Not that I hate travelling with students, but they are a very noisy bunch and they irritate me! I told the clerk at the check in counter that I need an aisle seat... and near the toilet. So, we were seated at the back of the plane... Bad idea!

It's at the back of the plane that you feel the turbulence so much and the 'bounce' from the take off and landing. It's also near the area where the flight attendants prepare the food and chatted loudly! We could almost hear everything! And the 'best' thing was, there was a toddler just in front of us who was feeling restless and couldn't help crying... Thank God for Ipod!!

Next to us was a girl in her late teens or early twenties.. looked like a student. As soon as the seatbelt sign was off, she took out her mobile phone and checked for message as if it's a normal thing to do! She asked for it, she got it from Bo... Bo scolded her and waited until she turned off the phone.. You see, even there is no solid proof of mobile phone interference with the plane aviation control system whatever, we don't want to take the risk, right?

And I reached home, unpacked and found that all my Ngiu Chap's soup was gone! Someone didn't pack it properly!

Updates!

They said time flies when you are having fun... My time in KK sort of 'flew' but there was no fun involved. Except for a friend's wedding, all other activities were cancelled (due to something I will tell in due time). All the island trip, mountain trip and golfing trip... cancelled!

Luckily, Carol & Quirin were kind enough to see me for lunch today... Or else, I'd probably be arguing with my mom on the time she spends on the computer. You won't believe it! She can, I rephrase; she has spent a non stop almost 8 hours on the computer playing games, only willing to pause 5 minutes in between to drink water or take her medication. And that 5 minutes she's gone, I'd go on Facebook just to check updates... There's no way I can blog! Now, as I type this, she's in the kitchen making dinner and her game is still on pause. So, I have to make this fast, because as soon as she's finished, she'll demand that I leave the computer!

Did I tell you, I managed to eat all the food I've been drooling over? Ngiu Chap, Fish Head, Hinava, Bambangan, etc etc! Almost all of them, so don't be surprised if I come back 10kg heavier...!

Oh no! Here comes my mom.. I'll blog again when and if I get the chance...

Here comes Beyonce!!

Thank God I decided not to disappoint my family and cut short my Raya Holiday just to catch Beyonce in Singapore on 25 September... Believe me, I was so close to changing my flight and leaving Bo in KK to entertain the family instead!

In fact, just a couple of days ago, when a girlfriend told me that she's going to the concert in Singapore next week, I was so excited to go along... Except I can't because I sort of promised everyone here a party, an island hopping trip and a golfing on the mountain.. When I voiced out to Bo how devastated I was over missing Beyonce's concert, he in his usual way of consoling me, said that I'll somehow get to watch Beyonce someday... I was secretly hoping it won't be too late like it was with MJ..

Anyway, like an answered prayer, Axcess Tickets sent me an email today announcing Beyonce's concert next month in KL!!! Who is the most excited person?? ME! I am gonna call them in a bit just to get 2 tickets first, and I am still not sure who's coming with me...

By the way, here's information on the concert and the tickets...

Egoistic? Maybe for West.

What do you know? I do have time to blog and go online... In between this game I am newly addicted to called Plant Vs Zombie.. It's so cute!!

Anyway, most of you probably knew or watched the "Kanye West dissing Taylor Swift" incident at the MTV VMA recently, right? That incident really tickled my funny bone, because it gave us a different kind of 'entertainment'... Hehehe

Here's my view at that incident. First of all, I think Kanye West must have been super irritated and he had his mind thinking that the awards revolves around racism and unfairness towards the African American Artistes. I mean, come on, you don't really believe that Taylor Swift's video IS better than Beyonce's Single Ladies, right? You don't really think there is any female artiste out there who released a better video than that this year, right? You know what, apart from the racism issue, i actually share Kanye West's sentiment of Beyonce having better video and more deserving to win. I really can't see how high-school romance Ala HSM kinda movies, can be more interesting to the judges rather than Beyonce's well choreographed dance machine! The only explanation I could think of is it's text voting, or the judging panel are girls and boys aged 11-17 years old.

Of course, Kanye West shouldn't grabbed the microphone from Taylor Swift during her acceptance speech... He should have just spoke to anyone of the news reporters outside and voiced his frustration or whatever. That way, he did not need to apologize. He'd still had his message across.

Anyway, that's my thought on that matter. It's not that I don't like Taylor Swift, I just thought she didn't deserve to win... There are many other better videos out there in 2008/2009 whatever year it was for!

I'm back

I am back in KK... until end of this month... There are so many places to go and people to see (This phrase don't seem to get old on me!)

The very first place I'm going to visit is the Ngiu Chap place tomorrow morning, early tomorrow morning! I can't be bothered with all the warnings on 'Puasa raids' anymore. I am already drooling just typing this post.

There are also weddings to attend.. I MAY need to go shopping some more since I only brought ONE cocktail dress this time around! Good reason to hit the shopping mall!

Bo will not be joining me here until the 22nd, so I have so many times in my hand until then... Anybody out there who wants to meet up for coffee or tea? Carol? Quirin? Anybody? Just leave me a message ya!

Here's wishing my Muslim readers 'Selamat Hari Raya' and 'Maaf Zahir & Batin'... Enjoy your holidays and be safe on the road.

I fell in love!

Did you know, I have recently fell in love and his name is Danyl Johnson.. I hope to see more of him and I have a good feeling that he'll win the X Factor and cut good albums...

He's good even on his first audition... Enjoy the video:

Oh! I can't wait!

Mom & Dad will be arriving from KK tomorrow, and it's gonna be a week of shopping until we go back to KK for Raya celebration in the middle of this month.

I won't be doing a lot of shopping... I am not going to buy me Baju Kurung, because since I am not going to wear it often, I'll just 'recycle' from last year's raya... It's not as if I deserve to buy one (knowing I have never fast!)... But I am going to get a new dress for a friend's wedding in KK. I have 'window-shopped' BCBG and some of Farah Khan's boutiques, but the dresses I like were meant for skinny tall girls not short & chubby like me... Hmmmm... I guess my "window shopping activities" need to continue.

I can't wait to go back to KK too, because there are so many things I need to do for my bedroom back in my parents house... I need to:-

  • re-paint the wall (or have someone do it for me..),
  • change the lighting
  • replace the A/C
  • replace the mattress
  • replace the pillows..
  • throw some old junks.. (mainly pictures of my ex's and his stuffs)
  • throw old clothes (or give them away)
  • and so many other things to do...!

BUT! like always, what excites me about going back to KK is the food!! Ngiu Chap and Wan Wan both will be on top of my list! Followed by mom's cooking... hehehe

So, I'm gonna be busy from tomorrow onwards until I return on the 29th September.. I will try to find time to blog, but if I can't, just know that I'm still around and will resume in October.

Happy Holiday!

Is it a Malaysian thing?

In case you can't see the photo clearly, it's the woman sitting on her chair with both leg crossed!

I sure hope that it's NOT a Malaysian thing!! But I've seen this so many times (especially here in Shah Alam) to ignore it...

Whether she wants to feel comfortable while enjoying her meal or it's just how she's brought up, it still looks ugly and 'unlady-like'... More so when she's wearing a supposedly 'very Malay' frock.

Why being critics, you ask me? It's from having a father who's very particular about table manner mixed with having a mother who talks about it a lot!
