Last weekend, Bo took me back to his hometown to attend a nephew's wedding. It was a short trip to Johor for us, didn't leave me enough time to cross the border to Singapore.

But on the way over, we made a stop at the newly opened Johor Premium Outlet. I heard so many things about this place. It's supposedly a place where you can find designers or premium brands at cheaper price. I didn't have high expectation, nor was I excited about going there. But wanted to check it out anyway.

All I got was a pair of running shoe from Adidas for RM115. I thought that was quite cheap. JP outlets price ranges, I think around 30 - 60% cheaper than in KL but they mostly sell back season and extra stocks so if you don't mind wearing (or carrying) something out of season, you may like shopping here.

As for me, I'd rather save me the fuel and toll money. But I don't mind dropping by on the way to JB again! :)

Impromptu patriotic visit

Just like the title suggests, we didn't plan anything for the first day of Chinese New Year. We woke up early to have breakfast in downtown KL knowing that the traffic will be a breeze. The traffic was a breeze but to get a decent place to have a breakfast was not. We ended up having Nasi Lemak Tangling nearby Bo's former office.

After breakfast, as we made our way out, we stopped at the red light on a junction where I spotted the sign board to Tugu Negara. I said to Bo "You know sayang, I 've never been to Tugu Negara".. to which he replied "The last time I was there was probably in 1986"... Knowing that we had the whole morning to ourselves, I suggested we visit. I was so sure not many people would be around..

Sure felt good to finally visit a national monument, it is never too late. It taught me to be more grateful for a peaceful country. I think some people should go there and do some "reflections" on their lives. There are a lot of things to be grateful about!

Spa Village

Remember my spa therapist sister? She is now working for YTL in one of their luxurious properties. When she came to visit recently, she booked us a two-hour session at Spa Village. Just what I needed!

Spa Village Kuala Lumpur is located on the fourth floor of the Ritz Residence, which shares the same building as the Ritz Carlton (although they have separate lobbies and separate doors). As I've never been there before, I parked at Starhill Gallery. I was so tempted to go to Sergio Rossi but we were already late (note that general spa etiquette is to arrive at least fifteen minutes before your appointment time; read here).

As soon as I opened the main door to the spa, the aroma from the essential oils calmed me. It was so quiet and I totally forgot that I was in the middle of KL! My sister paid and we chose our treatments, which was 90-minutes aromatherapy massage for me and Balinese massage for my sister and then followed by 30-minutes body scrub.

We were then ushered to a very dark waiting room and were served tea and rose-scented cold towel. Nice!

And then, we were led to the treatment room. We had a couple room that comes with rain-water shower and bath tub, outdoor!

The treatment was so good that I refrained myself from falling asleep, just so I could enjoy the massage. The therapist started with stretching my back and then before the massage started, she told me to inhale some oil to help me relax. She also checked my pressure preference. So professional!

After the massage, she helped me sit to scrub my back. That was a different style from any other spas I went before. All the other spas I went before actually had me lying face downwards while the therapist scrubbed my back. I actually prefer sitting up!

After the scrub, we went to shower outside and by the time I finished with my shower, I came in to see the treatment room was already clean and looked like nobody had treatment in it.

After I dressed, the therapist showed me back to the waiting room where they served us ginger tea. Again, nice!

Before leaving for our super late lunch, I asked if I can go to the exclusive poolside just to take pictures. And here it is!

Because I came with my sister, we paid good price. So I didn't contemplate to tip. When I said good price, it was very good! Because there's no way I'd go if I were to pay the published rate. So expensive! Check out their website here and have a look at the menu.

It was a very very busy week leading up to this long Chinese New Year weekend that my new colleague and I stayed back at the office up to 9pm everyday. Thank God for the long weekend, as I felt a bit feverish and so mentally exhausted.

Anyway, in all that working long hours, I managed to steal some time for a Yee Sang with my colleagues at a Tai Tong Group's Chinese restaurant in PJ. Although I was the only one who doesn't speak Mandarin at the table, I felt the warmth and the togetherness.

And I also put together Chinese New Year giveaways to pass around in the office. Something like what I did for Christmas. This time I didn't get strange looks, but a silly bitch actually remarked something stupid. Made me regret that I actually gave her one. All I can say is she is a shallow person who has never been to Sabah and probably never had any friend with diverse cultural background. The epitome of ignorance, that she was.

New Year Eve

It's two weeks into 2012 and I've been meaning to blog about my new year's eve.. So here goes.. Better be late than never!

I didn't really have a specific plan to celebrate new year. Since I was back in KK and was going back to KL on the 1st January, the last thing I want is to travel with hangover. Believe me, it's not good. So drinking the night away was out of the question.

So I decided at the last minute that I'd better be with the family; barbecue & gambling at my grandma's.

But before that, a friend wanted to send some food to a care center for the disabled people in Penampang. What noble thing to do so I tagged along. We brought food from McDonald's and I got ice creams for them. We spent a little more time with them before we left for grandma's.

What a nice way to end 2011! I truly feel like it's a good conclusion to a very good year indeed!

So I didn't have time to go back and shower, I thought what for since there'd be barbecue and I'd still be smelled of smoke anyway. We had the biggest fresh water prawn I've ever seen in my life and it was so fresh and sweet!

And since the kids wanted to go to the river at midnight, I was asked to inflate a huge floater with just air in my lung!

It was a miracle I didn't pass out!

I left to go home with dad at 15 minutes before the countdown began and had shower at home at exactly 12am and went straight to bed!

Not before I sent some new year wishes to some friends!

Ladies Blogger Gathering 2012

One of the thing that I looked forward to in this particular Christmas trip is the gathering with the lady bloggers. Since I'll be meeting some of them for the first time!

The gathering was held at Little Italy KK and isn't it the perfect place?! All thanks to Carol for organizing and for coming early to secure the table.

We had fun chatting and exchanging gifts! I got Carol's gift, which I love so much.. The Moroccan Rose is my favorite from the Body Shop range. Packaging's cute too! Thanks so much Carol!

Christmas in KK!

I cannot believe I only did 36 blog entries in 2011! This is so unlike me.. One of my 2012 resolutions will include to blog more, promise!

I came back from the holidays yesterday, and went straight to pick Noah from his boarding place. He looks fluffier now that his fur's all grown. Which means he's dues for a full grooming session next week, maybe a swim too!

Anyway......

This was the first time I went back to KK for Christmas since maybe 2007? I can't even remember the last time I went back for Christmas & New Year celebrations. I always either ran out of annual leaves or money!

So imagine my excitement when I knew I was gonna go back? I was over the moon!

I left right after the Christmas party at the office and arrived at midnight with a luggage and a box full of presents for my very extensive family members!

So I am back in KL... I didn't want to leave KK but at the same time, I missed both my boys so much! I haven't met Bo since he left for his boys trip on the 19th!

Anyway, this recent trip was so much fun but since it's already passed midnight, I am not going to blog now. I'll start tomorrow, promise!

How's your Christmas preparation going? I'm so not putting up Christmas tree this year, though I took it out from the storage. Why you asked? Because I'll be celebrating Christmas, Boxing & New Year's eve in beautiful KK with my beautiful family. It's been three years (maybe more) since I went back for Christmas. I can't wait already!

My preparation? Just Christmas presents.. I have fun choosing them and wrapping them!

Our theme color this year is Red & White

Too many presents! I think I need two big boxes just for them!

This is just 70% done, I'm yet to wrap a few more

I also did little Christmas treats for my colleague at the office, and when I passed them around this morning, they gave me puzzled look.. What? us Sabahans celebrate everything, ok?

Do you believe in "requesting" your own present for Christmas? I don't really actually but when a lot of money is involved, I'd like to choose the ones that I'd really appreciate. So when my aunty Carol said I can ask her anything, I went straight to my favorite shoe store and got myself a Christmas present from aunty Carol. This gotta be the best Christmas present from anyone (except maybe Bo) this year!

You know I've always been jealous of those of you who can get Astro Beyond because I stay in an apartment and all 100+ units shared the same satellite dish, which means I can't get the "black dish" for Beyond.

Thank God Astro came up with Astro Beyond IPTV, and when I found out about this, I signed up right away.

I can now enjoy AXN Beyond!

Even with camera phone, it's still very sharp!

So people like me, who stays in an apartment.. Go get your Astro IPTV now. It uses the Fibre Optic internet connection so there's no disturbance even when it's raining cats & dogs! And super fast internet connection too!

I was invited by a friend to a Sunday brunch at the royal selangor polo club, and since I've never seen a polo match and don't know anything about it, I jumped at the chance.

I arrived to a violin playing beautifully by a lady violinist and white wines and canapes. There was a fashion show by Salabianca and also an introduction to Polo, with three professional polo players out on the field to show us their skills.

What impressed me was the hats worn by the ladies and how good looking the men were wearing whites. The dress code was hats for ladies, white for men and denim for juniors.

I "stole" with permission some pictures from a new friend Naz's FB page since my camera didn't do the work it should have.

The Kings & Queens Part 2

The show was HILARIOUS! I laughed so hard I coughed!

Although the queen this time is Joanne Kam Poh Poh whose jokes were just okay, compared to Kumar. The rest of the casts made up for it. Her glass costumes was so shiny, it lit up the whole theater!

There was a "recycled" joke by Hairth Iskandar but still he was funny especially when he made fun of Bruno Mars song Grenade.

Vivek & Paul Ogata were also very funny. Although at some part when Vivek was speaking in Cantonese, I was a bit lost... luckily Nic was around to translate!

But the star of the night was of course Sugar Sammy. He's yes! so sugary! He's so cute and so candid and so effortless that really he just stole the night. If he ever comes back to Malaysia again, I'd definitely go see him again. Did I mention, he's so yummy too!

All in all, it was a good night full of laughter. And we were upgraded to Gold Class because the organizer sold the silver ticket at much lower price and thanks to Nic, we got upgraded!

Already looking forward to Part 3 of this show next year!

I am sure most of you have received similar, if not the same email as I have today.

Head on to Unicef PDF website to learn more.. I am against children bullying among each other, it's not healthy and I believe that the awareness should start from home. From the parents.

Although I've seen these "soft" bullying done by some kids, and ignored if not praised (as if the kid is smart to say the things he said), I couldn't really give the parents some parental advice. You know, being child-less and what-nots.

So I figured this is the best way to create awareness among us that our kids' actions and speeches may and can be hurtful to other kids. And we can do something about this.

I received a phone call from my Hypnotherapist few days ago telling me that someone contacted him after reading my post on my experience with hypnotherapy. What good news! He was very grateful and I am happy to be doing the favor!

Anyway, I really cant find anything to be blogging about but I don't want to let this blog dies on me so maybe I can share with you guys my Halloween party picture! Boring I know but I really can't find anything else to talk about.

So for our company's monthly party last October, I came as a mistress, the Captain's mistress that is. Befitting what my colleagues thought of me when I first joined.

I wanted to come as Dorothy from Wizard Of Oz or maybe a Gypsy but all the costumes were out of stock!

I won the best costume along with two others, and we won meal vouchers at some KL hotels.

Anyway, before this entry I posted an entry on the King & Queen of Comedy Asia. I read the date wrong and it's supposed to be this month, NOT in October. Silly me, and this isn't the first time I mis-read the time or date! I blame it on the excitement!

The Kings & Queens are back!

Practically still laughing everytime I recall last year's show.. So when I found out that this year, they're coming back with almost all new acts (except for Harith Iskandar who also performed last year), I went straight to their website and check the ticket.

But Bo had planned a boys golf trip to Jakarta around the same time, so who was I supposed to go to this with? Knowing that it's on a weekday and none of my 9-to-5 girls would be able to make it. And like answered prayer, Nic bbmed me and said she'll be going, and if I want to tag along? Hello of course!

So Nic got me the ticket and I already counting days to the 19th (night of the show we're going to). Suddenly Bo came and said "Guess what babe, my trip is delayed until 21st.. I guess I can go to the show.." with his I-Really-Want-To-Go-So-You'd-Better-Get-Me-A-Ticket-STAT! look. I went online again and thank God the seat besides us were not taken!

So, a couple more days to go! and I'm tapping my feet waiting!

Turtle Craft

At our recent Club Med Cherating Trip, Our team came up with a great idea and none of the other teams thought of doing it. We collected money that was to be channeled to Cherating Turtle Sanctuary over at dinner. While my friend made a sandwich flip with information on turtles extinction threat, I made a money box out of a turtle shape to make it more fun.

Let me share how I made the turtle shaped box simply by using paper, flour and water.. and maybe a little bit salt.

All the things you'll be needing

mix flour, water & salt

Design your mold in any shape, I use a fruit basket and stuffed it with newspaper to get the shell-like shape.

Cover with plastic so you don't ruin your mold.

start patching your paper strips soaked with "paste" mixture.

Patch, patch, patch until thick enough or as desired.

make turtle flips with cardboards

sculpt turtle head, I used toilet paper roll and free handed-ly sculpted the head shape

Leave to dry overnight, remove the mold, do some finishing and start painting turtle shell design. I drew Green Turtle shell design on this guy.

And voila..! my turtle papier marche is done!
I made a hole on top for people to slot in some cash!

Together with the sandwich flip, we were ready to collect some cash!

Good News! We collected RM1008.00 and the money has been delivered to Cherating Turtle Sanctuary.

Birthday Present!

I was about to start writing on my recent KK trip when I realized that I have not much to share. The trip was too short and I barely did anything fun-worthy. Most of the time was spent with family just catching up on the usual stuffs, apart from the picnic at Karambunai Lagoon and a trip to my dad's side of our relatives on the first day of Raya, and the birth of my long awaited nephew.

So, I decided to write about what Bo decided to give me for my birthday this year. I know it's a little old news but I can't help but share it with you! This year, we decided on a Blackberry Playbook, something that I've been waiting for since I think a year ago. With everybody raving about iPad, I was so close to getting one too, but knowing that sooner or later, Playbook will be launched in Malaysia, I waited patiently.

So my birthday was the perfect reason (or rather, excuse) for him to get me one.. Fuji can now retire for good!

A lot of people asked me what's the difference between iPad or Samsung Tab and Playbook. Honestly, I wouldn't know. This is a confession of a crackberry; I do not take any interest in any other brands, therefore I do not read their reviews. But I read somewhere that PB is the only tablet that doesn't require a SIM card and that it has built-in flash.. Not sure if that's the plus point but since I also read that PB syncs with my BlackBerry Smartphone (BBM, Messages, Tasks, Calendars, Photos etc), I knew I had to get one. Little did I know most of the apps actually work better with BB with OS 7 and above so what did I have to do? Get a new BB smartphone! So I got myself the latest, slimmest BB Bold 9900 that has qwerty and touchscreen feature. Addicted much?

And since I lost the weight and made a promise to myself to buy something nice, I decided to get a pair of gorgeous heels from Sergio Rossi.

Since this has cost me more than I could actually afford, no more nice dinner until I get my credit card bills back on track!

I was supposed to blog about my birthday do since a month ago but since time is not being friendly to me, i had to put it off. Besides, somehow this year I didn't feel like celebrating. Maybe because there were just too many things in my mind... ah well..

But a friend whose birthday is just two days earlier than mine, suggested that we celebrate our birthdays together with just twenty of our closest friends. I jumped at the chance, especially when be suggested that we host a "buka puasa" session at Saujana Subang. Since it's just a small crowd and food and venue were all taken care of, it was perfect for us!

I'm truly blessed to have this people in my circle of friends here in a foreign land. They make me feel like I have a family away from home. All these years, I used to celebrate my birthdays with oversea trips and intimate dinner with just Bo. I have never received so many birthday presents since I turned.. probably twelve! This year's birthday, I received so many birthday presents I was overwhelmed!

I know it's been more than a month since I last blogged. Time is a luxury I can't afford at this time.

In the last month, I have turned 34 (hopefully I can blog about this soon) and have gone back to KK for the long holiday (will try to blog about this too). Even during the holidays, my intentions of meeting up with friends and going to the island had to be cancelled.

But I have a very good news! My cousin who had been trying to conceive for the last ten years has finally gave birth to a very beautiful baby boy. The parents were proud, and the whole family was over the moon. I am so happy that right after I came back from KK, I straight away booked another ticket to go back for the baby's full moon celebration.

Losing it finally

So what motivates a girl to lose the excess weight? A promise she made to herself, along with some award to celebrate - remember this from last year? Actually, this time around, it's the beach holiday we're going to in November.

Ok, the image of me in a 2-piece with muffin top and flab is not something I want others to see. Call me vain, I call it self-confidence, and I need a lot of that to parade in my Armani's 2-piece which I haven't worn since I got it because of my "round-ness".

I'm happy to announce that I've shed five kgs in the last two months. I avoid carbo-based food and dinner is only a glass of hot choco and two pieces of wholemeal biscuits. I haven't had rice for a long time, but whenever I need the energy, I'd have some noodle or energy bar. The first week was so hard, I had gastritis and indigestion. But having passed that one week of torture, the following weeks until now was a breeze. I no longer salivate when I saw steamy white rice. I no longer drool on dessert and a bottle of plain water never left my side.

Since the office has launched our new little (literally) gym, I am going to try to work out at least twice a week on the treadmill or something. Although the weight-loss may have made my shirts & skirts to loosen up, I am still two kgs away from my ideal weight. And this two kgs is so stubborn that I am willing to run like a hamster on that treadmill for hours!

At least I still have three months to go and maybe, just maybe I can still parade in that super tight Herve and a pair of classic loubie (if budget permits, that is).

I'm sure most of you have experienced this before: you got excited to see the most anticipated movie of the year and guess what happened? There was this idiotic parent with 5 small kids in tow. Five small children who I'm sure don't even know why they're in a dark room with a very big TV. And then, the sound got too loud, they got shocked. And before you know it, one cried after the other. And then when they realized it was actually nothing, they got over it and started running around the cinema. All the while, the parent was oblivious to his children misbehaving and distracting other patrons.

Irritating!

With all great movies coming out this Summer, I was so looking forward to weekend so I can go on dates with my friends for movies and drinks after. But the scenario like I said really killed the movie experience.

It didn't happen once, it happened almost every time!! They either cry or scream or throwing tantrums.

Idiotic parents, who think it's ok to tag along toddlers to cinema and watch 18SX and 18SG movies. But the main question is, why are they allowed in in the first place?? Cinemas in Malaysia don't enforce age limit or maybe have no regards for the rating system?

Wow! I haven't blogged in a super long time! Really, between the 9-5 and Angry Birds and whatnots, I just have to put blogging in the last of my to-do list.

Besides, I really don't have anything to blog about. My life now is mostly office stuffs and I don't want to bore you with stories of office gossips, backstabbers etc. But what I can tell you is our office has this monthly party for the staffs that we call Monthly Chill Out.

It's a monthly thingy where a department is responsible in throwing a party for the office. Our department did last month's party and we had the highest turn up that the biggest boss was so happy he decided in the last minute to sponsor flight ticket to Paris to one lucky draw winner! A girl won. Lucky B$@)#!

Anyway, last month's Chill Out we were surprised! Not only it was held in a different area in the office, the performance was the talk of the town (so to speak)! What did we have?

As some of you know, I have re-started my professional job in an investment bank. It has been going well so far. I love the challenge of learning new stuffs especially the banking & trading terms. I also love how this company really takes care of their employee. The benefits are far better than all the companies I worked with before.

But there's one thing that's synonym with big organization, and that's office gossips. God knows why they'd do it but I'm pretty sure it's quite the norm in most offices. Normally, it doesn't bother me, and I am not one who likes to be involved in any "hot stories" involving other colleagues, especially if the word "affair" is linked to it. I'd avoid being associated with these things, I'd either kept quiet or just walked away.

But in my second month in the office, a "little birdie" told me that I've become the subject of an office gossip. I've been with the company only for a month plus, and already these gossipers could sum up my life stories in ways I can't imagine. It's actually very funny. According to the gossiper, I am a mistress.. A mistress! I brushed it off, it didn't bother me that much. Of course I felt a slight "tinge" knowing that people have been talking about me.

My way of dealing with this? Nothing. I did nothing and instead of retaliate and demand explanation, I ignored and sure enough, the gossips subsided. I just don't give them the satisfaction, you see. How do you deal with office gossips?

Baroque Bon-Bons at MPO

The last time I went to watch an orchestra was more than ten years ago back in KK. It was a group of young Asian students from New York. I didn't think I'd go to watch another one.

Last week I stepped into Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra, KLCC for the first time. Frankly speaking, we bought the ticket just so that we could see how it looks like inside, well none of us really were classical music fan, or at least I know I'm not.

But for the sake of experience, we purchased the RM40 ticket and anticipated excitedly! The show we decided on was Baroque Bon-Bons led by Stephen Layton, apparently the show was his debut in KL.

Too bad, no recording of any sort was allowed in the hall. So all I can share is image I googled.

Surprisingly the concert was very moving indeed, I could feel the emotion. The two and half hour went by fast. The voice of the soprano, Elin Manahan Thomas was amazing!

I can say, I really don't mind another one in the future.

Note: I drafted this post last week and only got to finish it today. Busy busy week it was!

First of all, Happy Mother's Day to all the mommy readers!

I woke up late today after an evening out with some friends for the Klang Valley Kaamatan festival yesterday. It was my first time at Klang Valley Kaamatan festival. Got to meet some blogger friends but I didn't bring a camera with me.. :(

What happened was a friend wanted to watch a musical and since I've never been to a local musical production, I jumped at the invite! And so we made our way to see Cabaret (link for The Star review).

At first I was a bit skeptical, I mean can an Asian carries the seductress Sally character effectively? But I was in for a good surprise! I absolutely loved it and now I've been on KLpac website almost everyday to see if there is something similar going to show soon.

I thought the sound system at KLpac was so good that the actors' voices were so clear. The emcee we thought looked like Boy George circa 2000 and although the main actor who played Clifford was like Keanu Reeves in Matrix (Read: Kayu-ish), his performance works well with everything. And the sailors were too gay to be shagging Bernie Chan's character the hooker. But Stephanie Van Driesen's voice was so impressive that for a moment I thought she was miming! So were Zalina Lee the landlady and Alizakri Alias who played Herr Schultz. But the person I was most impressed with was the musical director Nish Tham, for a person so young to be leading a band who played like that.. and she graduated from Berklee! Impressive!

Too bad not so many production like this playing often.. It was worth the money spent and I am still wishing that more local production takes on famous play like this. Next on is The Sound Of Music in June. All the way from London Broadway. Tickets are expensive but much cheaper than catching them in London. So, who's complaining?

Celebrating Bo's 50th

Guess who turned 50 over the weekend? Yes, my beloved Bo.

He wasn't in the mood to celebrate at first but I being the persuasive person, managed to drag him to go to his own birthday do.

My initial plan was to have him and a few of his friends to go have a round of golf and then dinner after. But knowing how he "didn't" feel like celebrating, I just gathered a few close friends and had an intimate dinner instead.

I had his cake done in a shape of a gold bar, to signify him turning to golden age. Nobody knew the shape and flavor of his birthday cake except for me and my favorite cake baker, Warren. It was yummy chocolate cake with creamy yam in the middle.. Everybody loved the cake, especially the birthday boy... Not only it tasted so good.. the design was something special too!

He received fantastic presents from our friends and he loves them all! I'm eye-ing that Robinson's vouchers and I'm going to spend it on fabulous dresses! He just doesn't know it yet..

Saving Blacky

Last Thursday as I started my car engine to go to work, I heard loud meowing sound coming from somewhere around the parking area. I looked but couldn't see where the cat was hiding. So, I left.

After work, I picked Bo up for a dinner downtown and after we parked the car, again we heard the meowing sound.. This time it was louder! As if the cat was in so much pain or hunger.

We looked and looked.. It was raining and there's no "hidden" area on the ceiling so it can't be there. We wanted to leave but the sound became so much like the kitty was in so much pain. We just couldn't leave it. So we looked and looked again. And finally we found where the sound was coming from.. Under a car! Parked right next to us.

We tried to get the kitty out ourselves but the bumper was too broad and it was impossible to go under the car. We called the building management to come help but apparently, saving a cat is not important to them. So, we had no choice but to call professional help. Jabatan Pertahanan Awam came to the rescue some ten minutes later, and within half an hour, the kitty was released from the car's undercarriage. It was a small kitty with big head.. According to the kitty savior, his head was stuck in between something something under there.

We had to call professional!

Poor kitty probably hadn't had anything to eat since the last 48 hours. So I went downstairs to buy some cat food but I guess he was too traumatized because he refused it. Bo was sweet enough to adopt the kitty and we named him Blacky...

Woah! I haven't blogged about anything at all since last month. Lots of things happened but I really couldn't find time to blog about them.. And TM still hasn't come to my place to fix my phone & internet line! Can you believe it? It's been a month, for God's sake!

As much as I want to talk about something, I shouldn't be stealing office hour to do so.. So until I resolve my issue with TM, it's just gonna be a quick blog hopping and very very short post.

Besides, I've taken on a project with the company that may rip any time off that I have off of me.. Until then.

Buble in Malaysia

I hardly have time to blog anymore! Internet at home is still not up yet (Doesn't TM give the slowest service ever?) and now that I've gotten the hang of things in my workplace, there's no more free time to browse facebook, twitter etc, leave alone blog!

And with all the things that happening around: moving, family visiting, Bo's losing of family member, and what not.. it's impossible to spend time for blogging.

However, I do feel obliged to be telling you guys about Michael Buble concert.

Everybody knows he's a cute, clean cut crooner and that, his music is boring to some youngsters. Initially, I was contemplating whether I should be going or not. I'm not hard-core Buble fan and also the ticket price was crazy! Starts at RM250, with only 15% Enrich discount, it's still expensive. But, my brother insisted that we go and he was willing to buy the tickets for me, Bo, himself & his wife..

Now, I'm contemplating on whether I should be going to Maroon 5 concert... I haven't got the tickets yet and with the frustration from this one still fresh, I'm not so sure...

I'm excited about this weekend! My brother and his wife are coming down to KL for a couple of nights. They are actually on their way to Bali for their long overdue honeymoon trip to Bali and also to catch Michael Buble live in concert.

I'm so loving this year's acts that are coming to Malaysia (and also Singapore). Next month, it'll be Maroon 5, and I'm definitely going, and Bo is so sweet for wanting to tag along to this. He's not a modern music guy, you see.

And speaking of which, I am currently in love with my new apartment. Some friends visited and they loved it too. It looks and feels like staying in a hotel, according to them. Woah! I can't even remember the last time I blogged... Well, it wasn't that long ago.. It just feels like it.

So, I've moved to a new apartment and have just settled in, albeit not completely. The audio & video system, internet (thinking of changing to Unifi) and telephone line aren't done yet and may take another week or two.

And it so happen that my workplace is under construction too. So in the last week, I was without computer. In a staff meeting, I requested if I can bring my laptop to work and guess what? I'm typing Fuji now!

I have not much to update right now. Except that I'm stealing this time after office hour to blog and also to pass the time or rather the traffic congestion outside. After all, I am now located at central business district of KL!

Yup! What's new, pussycat?

First of all, I have news to share.. I have accepted another job offer elsewhere and left my previous employment. It's not that it wasn't a good job, I especially loved the flexible working days but this new one, it's a job I couldn't resist! So Goodbye! free time on weekdays and Hello! steady income.

My new job is with an investment bank and I'll be working at the back of front office. Guess what, my new office is going to be just five minutes walk away from Pavilion! Hello and Goodbye steady income! I have started my training and orientation with the head quarters office and I must say, I enjoyed every moment of it. Though a little lost at first (I have absolutely no "financial" background"), I must say I am growing fond of the job description.. My attention to details really come in handy.

And with the new job, I am also moving to a new apartment. A serviced apartment, that is. It's just five-to-ten minutes drive from KL downtown (minus the traffic) and I'm sure my visiting family will love it. Although I am reducing in terms of apartment size, and increasing in rental cost, it'll be so worth it. I just know. I will be moving over the weekend and I just can't wait.

So, that's what's new with me.. I can't wait to settle everything into the new house and be done with it.. Because the moving is really stressing me out right now. Thank God for moving companies!

Eric Clapton World Tour

To some, Eric Clapton is like a God! To me, he's a God-sent to music world. When I received the mailer from Lushington about him coming to Singapore, I wasted no time to buy the tickets for Bo & me. First, because Bo is his big fan, and second because it fell nicely on Valentine's Day, what better gift can I present to him?

We arrived at the Indoor Stadium an hour earlier, because from past experience, we knew how crowded it was going to be. We bought a T-shirt for Bo (something that he likes to collect at concerts) and got ourselves two beers and waited at the entrance. As we were sitting enjoying our beer, we heard commotion coming out from the VIP entrance next to us. I saw a bunch of paparazzi fighting their ways to take pictures and videos of someone obviously famous but we didn't know who. The security guards were so rough that some of them fell off. Later, we got to know that it was the son of a Korean president.

Anyway, we went inside and sat for fifteen minutes before the light went off and Eric Clapton came on the stage. And without any word, he started singing his first song for the night. In fact, they only word he said all throughout the show was "thank you". Nothing like the other artists we saw before.

I am not really a big fan of Eric Clapton and I don't know many of his songs, apart from those popular ballads. So naturally, I just sat there and listen and try to stay awake the whole night, while Bo was so excited with each and every song. But seeing his excitement was enough to make me happy, the concert tickets were worth it!

Celebrating love in Singapore.

What did I do in Singapore? Shop, gamble, eat, walk, dance a bit, and a lot of laughter and crazy antics along the way!

Orchard Road was always like that, except one or two new malls that weren't there the last time I went. One of the main reasons for me to come to Singapore was to look for my make-up and I got to find from GA boutique manager that they are not available in all over Asia, well except maybe in Hong Kong or Tokyo!

But my sadness and disappointment didn't live long. The moment we stepped into Marina Bay Sands, I was blown away by the stores! Chanel is 3-storey wide and they have La Perla here! Of course, our main objective to come here was the casino.. in which, after losing the first SGD14, I won SGD33!

What greeted us as we stepped out of Marina Bay on our way back was spectacular! They were having some spring festival and there was this waterscreen projection video that was so beautiful.

I got back to KL on Tuesday super exhausted and with muscle ache but had great time. I truly enjoyed myself especially with close friends and Bo around for four days.

I'll do a post on Eric Clapton's concert later. In the meantime, these are some pictures from the trip.

East Coast trip

The idea of going to Dungun to celebrate CNY with a friend's family came about casually right after the Christmas & NY holidays, little did I know it would turn out to be materialized! And what fun we had!

We started our journey at mid day, stopping at R&Rs for lunch and coffee break and then ended up arriving in Dungun at close to 10pm! About six hours journey altogether. And we were so exhausted and hungry that all we thought about when we arrived were dinner and bed! However, as soon as we stepped out of the car when we reached the hotel, the sea breeze was too strong that it felt as if it penetrated through to our bones!

We stayed at a resort called Mayang Sari and it's located right in front of the sea. We took a 4-bedrooms garden villa and shared between the ten of us. It's not luxurious but it's still comfortable.

We had so much fun going around Dungun town with most of the activities involved eating and cam-whoring!

It was my first time in Dungun. One thing that I'm still amazed at (in good way) is that at the Chinese New Year open houses we went, all the food served was of Malay's tradition i.e Nasi Minyak, Nasi Kuning etc.. You can't find that in KL!

And that gorgeous Tanjong Jara Resort, I'd like to return with that special someone one day! That is when I can afford it! Room rate starts at USD450 per room per night!

Although I couldn't go back to KK to celebrate CNY, I felt like having family around with this bunch of great friends!

Valentine's Concert

I wanted to write about my Chinese New Year trip to Dungun... But I'd need a long time to compose that and time is what I don't have right now. It's already been a week and I have so many pictures to share (if you haven't seen it on FB yet, that is)

This past one week, I have been busy sorting out the "puzzles pieces" and putting them together.. So I have made some serious decisions and I will share them in due time.

In the meantime, St. Valentine's Day is just around the corner. Regardless of whether it's banned in Islam (?) or they'll be some "Immorality Checks" to be carried out by some opposition states authority, I'll not stop celebrating it. Why ban a celebration of love? I fail to understand.. Some people wants to show authority in really weird and funny ways.

And I will be celebrating in not so traditional way this year, we'll be going to Eric Clapton's concert in Singapore! That's my treat to Bo because he loves his music live and loud! Apart from that, I'll be making the trip with a few other friends because I personally believe Valentine's Day are to be celebrated with people you love, not an excuse to do "Immorality Checks".

Somehow I feel positive about this coming rabbit year! Why? Because as a snake, I'd "eat" this year alive!!

That's why I am excited about welcoming this rabbit lunar year. And I (along with some close friends) have been celebrating like there's no tomorrow! And the activities have been taking up my time from blogging.

Let me start with Yee Sang (or Lor Sang). This has been an annual tradition since I can remember. It's a good excuse to get together and enjoy fine Chinese cuisine with close friends. We had ours on Thaipusam holiday at a Dim Sum place in Sogo KL. It was so delicious that I returned to the restaurant for lunch again a few days after that.

Crystals & Feng Shui

I really have no mood for blogging these past few days and strangely, I didn't feel obliged.. For that, I must apologize.. But it has been hectic for me these past two weeks. Dividing time between family, work & friends and also time for me to do some "heavy-duty" thinking and planning.

I have news to share, but not going to announce it just yet..

On another note, you know I'm quite the superstitious or rather, Feng Shui inclined. So with the start of the new Lunar year, me and a group of friends were kind of busy looking and replacing our Feng Shui amulets and figurines.

I changed my i-ching coins (apparently for it to work, you have to change it every year)to attract and protect money, got pomegranate & rabbit figurines for baby productive year.. and I have not and will get the blue Rhino and black tourmaline to block bad energy and bad luck.

Major bummer!

I didn't mention this before but, since the eve of new year's day I have been driving my beat up old Kelisa because Mercy decided to fail me. First of all, Mercy is almost 10 year-old gal and she has never failed me before. She has been the most unfussy car I've ever had.

So, on the 31st, I realized there was a strange sound coming out from the wheel whenever I turned on corners. The further I drove, the louder it sounded. I contacted my mechanic, and of course, he was on leave. Ad-hoc holiday because Malaysia won a soccer game, remember? I had to wait until that Monday to have Mercy checked.

Mercy was left with him from Monday until Thursday, when he called to say it was just the power steering fluid box that was leaking and the fluid was dried up, hence the sound. It took him three days to locate the leak. Imagine my relief when I got Mercy back that Thursday.. I missed her, you see.

And then, as we were happily driving down Desa Sri Hartamas, I realized that there was smoke coming out from the car hood. We pulled over by the road side and called the mechanic again.. Some half hour later, tow truck came to get Mercy back to the workshop.

On Friday, I wanted to try my luck on the 4-D, but I didn't know that the outlets don't actually open on "non-draw" day and I forgot to buy them on Saturday.. And guess what!? Yup! Mercy's number came out! HAIYA!!!

Rebate surprise

I was running errands with Bo today. It's also Noah's haircut day. Since Noah wasn't ready when I finished everything else, I asked Bo to drop by at the Plus counter to redeem my Touch n' Go rebate. I heard about this from a friend not long ago but have never got the chance to drop by at the counter. Bo was keen to know how much is his rebate going to be.. I suspected it to be in the range of RM200 since he travels a lot. But the amount exceeded our expectation! I just need to share..

So guys, if you have been travelling a lot for the past six months, go redeem your rebate already... I'm not sure how they calculate it but if I'm not mistaken, they give back 20% from the reload amount from the past six months... Earlier than that is considered "burnt". Go to the toll counter to get yours.

A year in summary

One year ago today, I was bed-rested for the surgery I did to remove my tube.. I didn't celebrate 2010 because I couldn't.. Little did I know that 2010 wasn't going to be a good year for me. So, the lack of celebration was actually befitting.

Except maybe for my only brother's wedding and getting the braces off!

Apart from that, it was really a rocky ride. I tried IVF for the first time in April, it didn't work. Not only that, few days after I got the news, I received another news that my dad had a heart attack and was in a very serious condition. I barely had time mourning for my failed attempt, and there I was, getting another one bad news. I rushed to be with my family. While people in Sabah was celebrating Harvest Festival, my dad was undergoing open heart surgery in Ampang. It was so stressful and I was so depressed.

The depression and anger I had turned me to try hypnotherapy, which was a beautiful experience. I have already gained back my "normal self".

And to further avoid from being depressed, I decided to get a job - something to get my mind off wanting to have a baby so badly...

So, 2010 has been a trying and challenging year for me. Somehow, on the eve of 2011, I have this new feeling of liberation and that the future is looking better. I'm optimistic!!

How did you celebrate new year's eve? I celebrated at Changkat Bukit Bintang with close friends and a minor abrasion on my knee, and a lot of fireworks and beer too!

Amazingly, when we made our way to downtown KL at around 7.30 pm for dinner and countdown, there was no traffic jam, and also on our way back home at almost 3.00 am.. Really, where were KL party animals?

Anyway, I was walking toward the restaurant when my five inches heel caught the hole from one of the missing tiles on the pavement and made me lost my balance. Bo was walking in front of me, so by the time he turned to see, I was already on the ground.. and I broke a toe nail and hurt my knee. But didn't stop me from having fun! I mean, by the third beer, I could hardly feel anything at all!

I sew table cloth & cushion covers; bought & arranged fresh flowers; re-arranged the furniture and finally planned and prepared the food. I refused to get catering service as suggested by Bo because I thought I could do better at lesser cost. I was right! ;-)

As early as 4.00 pm I started roasting two birds of chicken and preparing the hors d'oeuvres. The morning of Christmas I went to collect the roasted beef & lamb I ordered from Cold Storage Subang Parade. I will do this again next year because the roast lamb & beef were delicious!

That was when I decided to give my guests the surprise party favor I ordered from Bali. Took me a week to decide on the "fillings".. hehehe..

I became Santa-Rina for about 5 minutes
and I got a home fragrance diffuser from HS

and a set of incense cones & holder.

We played some games. And was so noisy! It was fun!

I've been so caught up with Christmas party preparation that I forgot to update my blog.

Let see, many things happened since my last post. It started with Lucy & baby Sophie visit. In case you dont know, Sophie's my god-daughter. She's a handful but I was glad to have spent a whole day with both of them. Same weekend, my dad and the boys (my borther and cousin) visit. They come for hospital review for their hearts (except for my brother who came to search for bicycle stuffs).

I also attended a Christmas party and a company’s annual year-end party. The Christmas party was a formal affair and was not very enjoyable but I really enjoyed myself at the dinner party. The company, the games, the whole event was a success. I was nominated to be one of the best dressed! With my RM25.00 worth of dress!

Kids & Negligence

We were on our way out for lunch when I spotted this at my apartment's complex vicinity.

No adult was in sight, meaning this kid wasn't supervised. What if he fell off and broke his limbs? Worse is, what if he suffered from hemorrhage and died? Of course when that happens, the parents would never blame themselves, it'd always be God's willing, right?

In my apartments complex, I always saw kids swim on the adults swimming pool without supervision, sometimes during thunderstorms; cycling along the narrow corridor and many more activities that would require adult supervision.. When something bad happened, they would cry and cry and ask "why God?!" It irritates the hell out of me when people lost their children out of negligence and "blame GOD" for it.

First time at Casting

First week of December has passed and I have only written ONE entry! Not good! I don't like procrastinate but sometimes, movies & dining out sound better than staying home and write.. hehehe..

I am in the midst of preparing my Christmas party. I have yet to decide on food & some decorations are not up to par yet. I only have a few days to do this before family visit, works and Lucy's visit in the next two weeks. Oh my! My hands are going to be so full!

Before I go MIA again for a long time, I just want to share my first ever experience at casting for commercial.. I tagged along my friends to the talent agency last Tuesday to see how the process goes. I casted for a busy mother for a TV commercial. I'm not sure how I did, but by the look of the production crew, it was obvious that I wasn't what they're looking for.

I was nervous and thought that the little boy who played my son did much better and more professional than me.. I am not confident that I'll get the role, but it sure was a good experience!

O Christmas Tree!

The weekend before last, right after I took Noah for a walk at Desa Park City, I went to a warehouse looking place in Kepong that sells a lot of cheap stuffs. Very cheap!! I couldn't believe my eyes. Thanks to Meo for telling me about it. I spent only RM180 for the tree and the ornaments plus the lights and snow flakes!

Anyway, I went crazy on the Christmas ornaments. I got a new six-footer Christmas tree to replace the six-year-old one-footer that's falling apart.

And last weekend, I had some friends over to help me put up the Christmas tree and decorate it with the new ornaments.

At first, I wanted to go with purple/pink theme and then, colorful after that because at one point I was so inspired by fireworks. But finally I decided to go with Black/Silver, with a little Red & Gold since the tree looked a bit dull with just Black, White and Silver.

Now that the decor is out of the way, I can finally focus on food and entertainment. One thing for sure, there'll be no turkey this year. And cakes are home-made! Super yummy!

A night of SHAGS!

Last night, right after work I made my way to The Hills for the Blogger Gathering. Without proper lunch and dinner, I ordered a pint of Hoegaarden, at around RM35.00, this comes with a free 1/2 pint during the happy hour. I thought that's a good deal.. Since I never tasted Hoegaarden before, I took the opportunity. However, drinking with empty stomach resulted in me getting "friendly" real soon. And I am sure some of the bloggers I met for the first time would think that I am this loud-mouthed, foul spoken woman who shouts when she talks.

I AM like that exactly! And I get ten times worse when I'm intoxicated!

Anyway, I was having so much fun with new friends but I really had to leave early since Bo was leaving for Kedah and I promised him I'd spare some time for him.

I'd like to extend my gratitude to Daniel for organizing (I needed the drinking session to de-stress and the socializing to avoid insanity).. Thanks also for the door gifts from CityGolf and Exabytes.

Exactly one more month to Christmas!

This weekend I am going to put up my brand new six-footer Christmas tree and my brand new Christmas ornaments and decors. Will take picture and blog about them.

Remember last July I blogged about losing weight? For Christmas? Guess what guys, it DIDN'T happen.. I am still the chubby me.. How can I lose all the weight when all I do was wine, dine & entertain? I weighed myself every morning to see the difference, if any, at only 500 - 700 grams!!

So maybe I need appetite suppressant, buy phentermine and do a lot of exercise... All that dog walking was no help.. I even put on girdle, to no avail!! But at least my back pain has gotten lesser.

What should I do? I'm gonna go buy phentermine already and start right away.. I still have a month to go.. And maybe, just maybe I can be skinny..

Ok! That's what I'm gonna do, I'm gonna buy phentermine. I think my friend Steven can hook me up.. He's been taking them and the difference really showed through!

But the side effect story is really scary.. Anyone took them before and got story to share?

I watched AMA 2010 last night with many disappointments. Although I did like Pink's performance, the rest I thought was singing off key and the awards went to undeserving artists..

Anyway, I didn't realize Nelly has come out with a new album. I won't be buying the "local" CD though. But his single from this album "Just A Dream" has becoming my favorite!

I am going to get his Audio CD, along with Pink's from either Amazon or Ebay.. But maybe it's not a good idea if the authority open up the package and send it to censorship board.. Do they even do that? Should I just wait until Singapore?

I am definitely going to Eric Clapton's concert in Singapore. I finally got to purchase the ticket online. Maybe a bunch of friends will be joining me for the casino.. That sounds exciting since the last time I went to a casino was in Genting in late 90's. But if that casino trip fails, we can always go on the best online casino.

Today I had friends over for a little pot-luck party. We were celebrating Raya Haji.. I told you I'll give just any reason to throw a party at home nowadays.. I just love the company!!

Anyway, today everybody contributed home cooked food for the party.. We had a little theme, that was to go with Sabahan Traditional delicacies.

Dog-coned

Noah loves treat! Ok.. that statement's a bit silly, all dog loves treat. But Noah being a Shih Tzu has super sensitive skin. So if he takes more treat than usual, he gets itches on his paw and leg.

A few days ago, that's what happened. While I was away at work, Bo was at home playing with him and gave him some treat. He didn't know that a day earlier, I was trying to train Noah to put his toys back in his toys basket. Many rigorous command and lots of treats later, Noah still doesn't know how to put his toys back into the basket. Training failed, but the dog happy. And then I forgot to tell him to drink some water. Because he HAS to drink a lot of water or else his skin will itch.

And so his skin itched.. and he started licking one particular area until the skin "breaks" and wounded.

So this is how he looked like a few days ago.. and by the way, this is not the first time he got this "wound"

I pledged to donate my organs when I pass on.

I know some people are still skeptical about doing it for reasons I can't comprehend. But, no one can force anyone to do this. To be able to do this, one must NOT be selfish and scared, and one must BE ready.

I feel strongly about this because I think it'll be the last charity/good deed I can do for other people regardless of their background; and when I die and take my good organs with me, it will be a major waste!

An afternoon at the park!

It’s a long weekend started on Friday. Many friends went on trips, and I thought of doing so too, until of course I found out that I have to work on Sunday.

Refuse to let the long weekend gets on my nerve and be lonely; I joined V and her family for a stroll along the Desa Park City Water Park on Friday. It was my first time. Knowing that furry friends are allowed, I put Noah on a leash and tagged him along... Boy, it was clearly the happiest day of his life!

Not only can you play “spot the dog’s breed” while strolling, you can also mingle with their owners and exchange notes! Besides, we can sit sipping drinks with our dogs by our side at the coffee outlets!

I know it’s not going to be the last time I do the strolling there with Noah. I’m gonna do this, a weekly thing with him and I get to mini-exercise by walking at the same time.

I enjoy throwing party! I love the company - because usually my apartment is soo quiet with just me & Noah.. So whenever I have friends over, I get excited!

Of course with the new friends I made recently, I now have more reasons to throw parties more frequently. Sometimes, I'm running out of excuses to get Bo's permission (and money) to host a party.. I even asked him if I can do Thanksgiving and Hari Raya Haji parties to which his answers were both "No".. I do have ideas for Hari Raya Haj but of course, I can't say it here. :)

Anyway, I am so happy and excited to know that I get to host a bigger dinner party for Christmas this year. I am so excited, I have started googling for ideas!

For the recent Halloween Party, I hand-made a simple tombstone shaped party favor/treat box. Let me share how I did it..

This is what you need
120g paper/fancy paper
ruler, cutter
pencil and scissor,
you'll also need a good glue (strong bond)

I took this shape/template from Martha Stewart's website

Trace the shape onto the paper with pencil

"Scratch" along the lines (DO NOT cut through)
This is for you to fold the paper easier later
I forgot to take more pictures
but I actually was making a small paper bag

Cut along the paperbag shape

Write down "RIP" or "here lies (name)" to add spooky effect.. hehehe

Fold the paper into a box

Cut off excess paper and this is what you get!

Place on a flat tray and you get your spooky party favor

Feel free to try it yourself.. Please bear in mind, only do this if time is on your side because it's very time consuming.. Next party, I'm going to try different shape depending on the theme..

Pink Halloween - The party

Woah! Last night was great! We were surrounded by great friends, good food, awesome activities..

I decided to dress up as a cat since I found a pair of cat's ears, a tail and a bow from the party shop. I went on Youtube to see how to do make-up for a cat and an hour and five different eyeliners later, voila! here's a cat for you!

Good thing was everybody was sporting enough to come as a character! We had a pirate, little devil, black angel, Chun Li gone crazy, Jason, That Scary movie guy, Edward Cullen etc etc.

The Kings & Queen

I've been wanting to blog about the Kings & Queen of Comedy Asia, of course I've been occupied with other stuffs (Halloween's this weekend, remember?)

So last Saturday after work, we made our ways to Plenary Hall KL Convention Centre to have dinner while waiting for the time. Half an hour before the dinner, we went up to the entrance to get ready to go in and already the crowd built up to the point that it was hard to even make way to the ladies.

The show started with two guys rapping/performing the show's soundtrack. If you want to listen to it, please go to this youtube video. And then Kumar came on stage, he was the host of the show. He was hilarious! First comedian was Douglas Lim (Malaysia) who sang the "Babi" song to Justin Bieber's Baby music, second was Vir Das (India) who I thought was kinda cute... third was Hung Le (Vietnam) who sounded Australian and kinda "dry" and the last one was Harith Iskandar (Malaysia) who I under-estimated to be not funny. I thought he was funny but a bit too "trying too hard". Kumar was still the most natural, effortlessly funny.

All in all, I enjoyed the show thoroughly.. Never had I laughed so hard. I even had to pass tissue to Bo twice because he was laughing so hard, he cried!

It was a boring rainy afternoon last Friday and I was trying to get Fuji to work with WirelessKL when out of sudden, we heard scream and a man running towards the main road. But he got caught by a big sized dude and was slammed onto the floor. I heard loud thud even from inside the gallery.

Then in no time, this happened.

A very Malaysian thing to do! To watch and see what was happening, and all the while I could hear the guy's moan and groan. My co-worker, Reubs was trying to be helpful but of course some other people beat him to the job and all he could do was to take some pictures!

What was the commotion, you asked?

This guy was caught because he shoplifted stuffs from the supermarket. The stuffs are some chocolates! Some chocolates! Getting caught & beaten up for some chocolates!

Police came some five minutes later and asked the crowd what happened to him and all of them answered the guys fell off during the chase and hurt his back.

We suspected that he hurt his back real bad because he couldn't get up and when the police tried moving him into the petrol car, he was shouting in agony!

All for some chocolates!

Do you like Burlesque? I'm talking about the dance that's been dubbed as "the art of teasing and seduction" . Lucy & me love this! We used to chat about wanting to take up the lesson just so we can practice it on our men!

However, when I did my research, the nearest Burlesque class is in Melbourne! So, I had since opted to watching it online on Youtube. Guess what!? Not working!

So when I found that this is coming out, I get excited.. I can't wait to get my hands on the DVD!

Bring on the Boa, furry slipper, corsets, anything Burlesque! And the nails to go with the theme!

I am so excited about the party decor for my Halloween party that everytime I'm out and about, I'll look out for party shops!

It'll be my first Halloween party and I have to start from '0'. I have purchased balloons, skeletons, spider webs etc and have already started putting them up.

Anyway, just to preview a couple of the prop!

Who's a fan? When Cas sent the e-flyer of Kings and Queen of Comedy Asia, I was super excited.. Because I've been wanting to go see him perform in Singapore but never got the chance. But now that he's coming to Malaysia, I will not miss it for anything!

I even had to cancel on Adam Lambert's concert for this - budget issue :(

Pink Halloween

Halloween is just around the corner!

I am throwing a small party for some friends at my apartment on the 30th. Reasons being 1) I just feel like getting some friends together, 2) I want to do a Pink breast cancer awareness party and 3) Just because!

So, without giving it much thought I decided on the theme Pink Halloween and colors are Pink & Black!

I'm thinking of becoming a kitty this year, but I have not found a perfect costume so I will only reveal what costume I'll be wearing after the party, ok? Actually, I'm more worried on Bo's costume and whether he wants to wear them or not!

So, I will be busy preparing for this party and I can't wait to share with you guys on my preps and props!!

Dream at Fahrenheit88

Last Tuesday, I got this invitation from Body Shop for the launch of their new flagship store at Fahrenheit88, and also the launching of their new fragrance called Dream Unlimited ™.

Nicole and I made our way there after work and when we arrived, we were greeted by the Body Shop girls who gave us a purple rose corsage and a card for us to write our dreams for a chance to win some prizes. We were also given RM88 worth of voucher to spend just on that night. There was also harp playing to serenade us away.

But what attracted us the most was the Tarot Reading table. We had to wait a long time for our turn but when it was my turn, we had to delay a bit because the drumming started and we couldn’t hear each other. Cheryl, the clairvoyant was telling me how this reading is not for my future but more on what’s current. She said my energy was so strong that she could feel my pain. She was telling (not asking) the areas where I feel pain all the time. And she was right! She also talked about some emotion and energy that I must re-direct to be able to get the thing I really want in life.

After the tarot card session, we made our way to the store to spend off the RM88 voucher we got earlier. I got myself a Seaweed range Traveler’s set, Japanese Cherry Blossom bath gel, a lily bud and a bath glove. All this I paid for RM67.80 only because of the RM88 voucher!

Pink Shopping!

Last Tuesday night was the Pink Shopping Night, Nicole and me decided to watch Eat Pray Love before that so we went to Midvalley about 3 hours earlier. When the movie was finished, the time was just nice for us to make our way from The Gardens to Midvalley. But when we arrived there, we were shocked to see the amount of people lining up to get the goodies bag & cupcake!

Look at the amount of people.. and this barely half!

Luckily, we have HSBC credit cards so we got to go to a shorter line, only five people ahead of us!

Anyway, once we collected Cupcake & Goodies Bag, we went straight to business! Shopping!

When we were busy shopping, we missed the performance and Mob flash dance by APL Publication staffs.

Because we spent, we get to Spin-The-Pink-Wheel, both of us got to spin three times. I got to spin more actually because I hit the same spot twice and they gave me another chance to win other things! Nice!

Hello October!! I am so excited about the arrival of October because it's the Pink Month. To my "new friends", I just want to let you guys know that I feel strongly about this month because it's Breast Cancer Awareness Month and I feel strongly about this because my grandmother is a breast cancer survivor.

Anyway, I am sport when it comes to anything supporting this cause. Last year I attended Pink Party, this year I will definitely take part in Night Of Pink Delights. It's a way to show your support with a little self love. We get to shop at the Pink Shopping Night at Mid Valley Megamall on 12 October where a percentage of the proceeds are channeled to BCWA. But you need to get the all-access Pink Card for instant retail privileges. There's goody bag, cupcakes, Pink flash mob, Great wall of kisses and Spin the Pink Wheel. You can get the pink card when you buy October issue of Harper's Bazaar, Cleo, Malaysian Women's Weekly or Cosmopolitan. I am definitely going, and whoever is in town.. why not shop with a cause?

You can also help by buying the merchandise from Breast Cancer Welfare Association (BCWA).
